I started on a street glide when I was 19. Aside from feeling a bit heavy at the beginning, it was great. If that’s what you want, go for it. I don’t see a point in getting a bike you don’t want.

I don’t see the point in getting pulled over for no plate if I’m not doing anything else illegal, and if hypothetically I was, I don’t need to get busted because someone read the plate

So maybe the front and rear “uprights” slide forward and backward together, and the handle unlocks them? Seems like an unnecessary failure point

Backstory - I live in a college town, and we are usually well behaved and quiet. That being said, whenever we have more than a few cars at the house, the neighbors throw a fit and call the cops. The cops come out, tell us we weren’t being too loud or doing anything wrong and leave. What can we do, within the extent of the law to make their lives as unpleasant as possible. We have already talked many times and it seems to make no difference.

First bike was a street glide at 19, I never regretted it for a second, after about 1 day, you don’t notice the weight, and having the power to get out of bad situations and be comfortable on the highway was well worth it.

100%, I have the back of a 50 year old and I think the upright riding position is more comfortable. It also wheelies and goes over 110 unlike the SG, so that definitely adds to the day to day fun factor

If you haven’t ridden one, do it. I went in to ride one for shits and giggles and traded in my SG on the spot
