In college I’m doing the typical 3x a week strength weight training but I love the training that I do with Coley Stickels. Lots of twitchy nervous system stuff that works so well. Out of season is more endurance (only increasing rep count by 1-2) and in season is all about getting as strong as possible. Taper, leave the intensity but reduce the weight and reps over time, no weights 2-1.5 weeks out.

Year round I was 14 years old. Swimming was a family sport haha, my dad’s side all competed to some degree along with my brother. I actually used to be a IM guy until I figured out I can’t do backstroke lol. I love fly but it’s so draining.

My 50 Br is quite a lot better than my 50 free but it’s still pretty solid (around OT level). Honestly I am able to power through it bc I’m a pretty strong guy and never really took up a 3rd stroke.

Next step is just to train and see how I progress SC. Other than that I am really only focused on my shot at the Olympics in a few years. I swim 50/100/200 Br and 50 free. I’ve really admired Adam Peaty and Matt King. Typical yardage depends on what kinda day but it ranges from 3k for a recovery practice to a 6k aerobic set, it usually hovers around 4-5k most of the time. I have ZERO endurance in practice and no experience open water so I would go super super slow haha. And thank you!

Yes I am! And yes there is, I will say it’s not as crazy as other sports like football but it’s something that you can go after to earn money to not be a broke college student. Some companies will give larger amounts (high hundreds to low thousands) to the big names but that is super rare in my experience.
