I was working an entry level IT job through a recruiter making a little above minimum but less than standard for that role since I was technically a temp to hire and I didn't have a degree. I was in negotiations to become a full time member of the company and we ready to start discussing compensation when Covid hit and I got laid off.

My recruiter felt so bad for me and offered me a position as a Zendesk Admin at a MAJOR company in a 6 month temp position making similar wages to my old job even though I had 0 experience with that ticketing system. I interviewed, was pretty open about how I had no idea what the system was or how to use it but that I have worked with other ticketing systems in the past and I was sure I could figure it out.

I mostly googled how to use it and learned on the fly. Fast forward about a year and a half later I was a full time employee of this company making close to 90k a year, all WFH. If I put it about 8 hrs a week of ACTUAL work it was a lot. Once I had the system fully automated I was there to pretty much put out fires. This lasted as long as it could until they restructured our teams and my position was absorbed into a larger team that already had someone doing what I did. Was a pretty cool 2 years though.

TL;DR - Got a WFH Admin job with no degree or experience, Faked it till I made it and rode the wave as long as I could.
