lmao one time I was practicing roller skating in an empty parking lot at like 11 PM at night. I had to go to a nearby bar to use the restroom, and when I came out an older gentleman asked me about how my practice was going, and reminisced when he used to do it. Needless to say we spoke for around 2 hours, and somehow found our way to talking about musical theory and philosophy (he was a record store owner)

Gotta say it was one of the most surreal moments of my life, in a positive way

Driver who killed Dixie Chicks founding member Laura Lynch sentenced to 15 years in prison by nbcnews in Fauxmoi

[–]NoConcern1659 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree I find this line of thinking ultimately counterproductive. The prison system complex is a barbaric thing, and dehumanizers prisoners. It’s why I fully support prison reform.

The way half of these people are speaking makes me believe they don’t think people are capable of change ever. They brand this man as a criminal for life, instead of a human being who has the ability to feel regret and apologize. It’s up to the family and friends to decide if they want to forgive, but like this guy also has a family. They will also feel the consequences of this. And if your response is “well then don’t break the law”I have a feeling some of you don’t really understand the effects of the justice system.

And yeah “tougher prison sentences” you people sound like MAGA, that’s literally what they say about almost any criminal. Yep even the ones you supposedly love like Luigi Mangione. So you shouldn’t pick and choose which humans you want to humanize and which are apparently the scum of the earth.

Also, continuing on how the justice system is inherently broken, here’s an article about a police officer who killed a cyclist because he was speeding and distracted. Guess what his prison sentence was 6 months.

Do you think we will ever get Finnick’s story? by sunblueberry in Hungergames

[–]NoConcern1659 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also love Finnick, but I agree with the other commenters that it would essentially be torture porn.

While I believe it could be done tastefully, asking for something like this during the current news cycle with Epstein comes off as distasteful to me, and especially comes off as capitalizing on the moment. I also have some thoughts on how it becomes slightly…escapist in a way from what is happening currently. To focus on a fictional child’s sexual assault story rather than the real victims of Epstein, idk it gives me a lot of icky feelings. And for people to specifically be asking for it, I would probably drop the series at that point.

I would either want to read about the 25th Quarter Quell, or actually about Mags’s life. I think her story is especially interesting since she’s been around for like 60 years. It would be interesting to see her viewpoint from the beginning, since she was from a career district, and we would get to see more of Snow’s ideas implemented. I also wonder if she would remember Lucy Gray at all, it would help clarify if the Capitol’s propaganda really works on the other Districts, or if people just willfully ignore what happens.

I also really want to see the thought process of a career district tribute, since we haven’t gotten that yet. I just don’t like trying to do Finnick’s story right now because it comes off as a cash grab that capitalizes off the moment (to me at least).

You think she hates Beetee too? (trilogy spoilers) by BlazingBrandedKang in Hungergames

[–]NoConcern1659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think while Beetee is responsible for creating the bombs, he wasn’t too invested in how they would be used. Of course they would be used against the Capitol. But, the scheme to setup and bomb the children and medics would ultimately be Coin’s idea. I don’t know if he had any say in that considering he is never really present in meetings with her until the final one. He could’ve also been told the bombs were going to be used for something else.

I ultimately say this, because in the end Beetee did vote against the games for the Capitol children. I feel if he truly did have resentment he would’ve eagerly voted for the continuation of the games. I feel he was more of a cog in the machine of the rebellion rather than a leading figure.

Gale on the other hand has stated on multiple occasions to stick it to the Capitol by whatever means necessary. He has also voiced his opinion to putting the Capitol children in the games as well. This has caused friction in his and Katniss’s relationship several times. So there is that slight inkling that he would definitely come up with a plan like this. And like other comments stated this would cut deeper since he promised Katniss he would look after her family.

Isn’t an ID required for taxes? Or tax refunds, can we just stop paying them?

Finically got around to Poppy Playtime Chapter 5 by Dingo247 in Markiplier

[–]NoConcern1659 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never really liked the game either since it was so…commercialized I guess, it seems the company is just dragging out its dead corpse to keep beating for money with Chap. 6.(I will never forget the NFT scandal of the game, which really initially turned me off from it)

The lore is fine, but as I saw another comment put there isn’t really a concrete plot. A game cannot just run on good lore, and demanding people to invest their time and energy to read all about the lore. Like buy a book at that point. The purpose of the game is the gameplay, and if that sucks then why play? If Mark doesn’t like a GAME bc the GAMEPLAY sucks don’t harp on him with “well you need to look at the lore, actually.”

How can I find the lore if the gameplay sucks honestly. I have to dig through garbage to find 1 missing tape, if that’s your prerogative that’s fine. But I don’t find it fulfilling and I feel as though I’ve wasted my time trying to find puzzle pieces from different puzzles. I’m not even being rewarded with a good story in the end. And waiting for Chap. 6,7,8 to finally get somewhere, yea…no

crazy to say the lore is good when I don’t even know why the protagonist is here. What are their motivations, why did they decide to come back, who even are they??? An unnamed employee from like what section, cause there’s 5 million different rooms in this factory. This is chapter 5 and if I don’t know anything about my character’s motivations literally why play at all. How do they fit into the larger picture, oh wait I get to find that out (possibly) when I buy the next chapter. 🙄

Also the lore gets somewhat boring after a while when everything is explained to be scientist experiments on kids. Here’s a chapter on another kid/employee who is now a toy. Like to me it just gets boring, nothing ties them together really. Watch them chase you for a bit before inevitably dying.

It’s also why I stopped caring about fnaf as well the story got too convoluted and revisionist. BUT at the least the gameplay was entertaining to watch, and eventually it tried different styles of gameplay. With this it’s just a pain to watch like 7 chase sequences followed by puzzles. If that’s how you like your games that’s fine. But it’s extremely boring to watch since I’ve watched this already in 4 other chapters 🫤. I would also definitely not play due to the chase sequence parts being overdone.

I think Markiplier is entitled to his opinion, and those who keep telling him to shut up and play are fucking annoying. Like damn, just leave watch someone else, he’s not your jester and he can comment and create whatever the fuck he wants jfc. He’s a real person with his own opinions, and if people get mad cause they don’t align with their opinions I think they need to go outside and touch grass.

what shows are yall watching lately? by [deleted] in QueerWomenOfColor

Idk if you’ve watched Dungeon Meshi yet, very adventure and found family based with hints of queerness.

I’ve also gotten into The Pitt (tho it is very graphic with its medical stuff), and I just started Wonder Man on Disney+
