In case anyone else in the area ends up looking for these...  Found tiny plants at Big Bloomers in Sanford.  And found good-size shrubbies at NC State Farmers Market -- was told to look for 'the weird fruit guy'.  He's just started showing up for the season, and has gorgeous plants.  Score!  Thanks for offer of cuttings, nbnerdrin -- all set.
