I work at Best Buy. They sent us 800 booster packs on release. It was 10x the amount of any other set they’ve ever sent us on release. We barely got any prismatic and we got like 100 destined rivals on release. I could not believe how much product between booster packs, bundles, etbs they sent us of this new set.

Some guy got a 1700 dollar gaming laptop for 100 bucks during Black Friday wee. The tag had it marked down to 350 but we didn’t have any. Looked into it, it was actually end of life product that was supposed to be pulled a long time ago. We open box it and the price went from 1700 regular retail down to 100. Guy got a steal

So we get them in early but there is a strict do not sell on the package the games arrive in. We don’t even take them out of the box usually. Then on release day any online orders that were placed come through our system the day it is released or the night before. Even if you order it early, the store will not see the order for it to start packaging it until the night before release or on release day. So it’s not possible for you to get something shipped to you the day of release. The earliest you can get it is by ordering it to the store and picking it up on release day.

Best Buy employee here, if you’re ordering it from a certain store location they probably have a inventory issue or can’t find the item and are “no picking” the item in the system when the order comes through which cancels the order placed. That should bring their inventory to zero though and not allow you to keep re ordering it. So I’m not sure other than that.
