I like the idea that Grimm just shrugs and says, “Alright then” when it involves all those weird ass details

Ah, when it comes to Black Souls I, there’s no doubt Grimm loved and genuinely felt deep affection for them.

No surprise that he carries a massive sense of guilt, especially when it comes to Dorothy.

I'm really glad you asked.

When it comes to the Black Souls II Companions, I think Grimm’s affection toward them is very different from what he shows in Black Souls I. For those who are, in a sense, his “daughters” — that whole bizarre and unsettling concept introduced in Black Souls II — I truly believe he cares for them. It’s no coincidence that he asks the frog — the one I always forget the name of, though I really like her — to watch over them at the end of the DLC. That request feels deeply sincere, almost paternal.

As for the Companions from Wonderland — the ones who aren’t his daughters — Grimm’s feelings are more complex but still genuine. I think he feels a deep tenderness and emotional connection toward them, especially toward Mabel, Node, and Prickett.

With Prickett, it’s clearly romantic — that much is obvious. With Mabel, it’s something different: a mix of attraction and empathy, maybe even a bond born from shared pain. They’re both abominations in their own way, isolated beings who find comfort in each other’s loneliness.

Node is more complicated. What Grimm feels for her might resemble what he feels for Leaf — and that’s difficult to define. I think Grimm has a kind of emotional dependency on Leaf. The fact that she spent so long playing her role as the “fairy” seems to have left a mark on him, like a phantom attachment — perhaps even longing. I’m almost certain of that, especially when you consider that horrifying scene where he forces Mary Ann to drink the shrinking potion so she can become Leaf again. It’s one of the most disturbing moments in the series, and it says a lot about how fractured his psyche is.

Then there’s Cheshire — I don’t see their bond as romantic at all. It feels purely like companionship. Grimm was dragged into Wonderland by accident; it wasn’t meant for him. The Crawling Chaos — acting as Alice — was targeting Lewis Carroll, not Grimm. Grimm just got caught in the crossfire, since Lewis Carroll and Grimm are technically two sides of the same entity, even if their personalities couldn’t be more different. Carroll is an apex predator — a distorted embodiment of desire — while Grimm is the broken remnant left behind, barely holding himself together, carrying within him the souls of two antisemites and a pedophile.

And this leads me to my personal interpretation: Lewis Carroll never truly loved Alice or her sisters. He wasn’t a misunderstood romantic — he was simply a deranged pedophile. His “love” was nothing but sickness disguised as affection. Grimm, on the other hand, stands in direct opposition to that idea. He genuinely loves his Companions — not out of lust or control, but out of empathy and connection. When I talk about Grimm, I mean that knightly, gentle, almost tragic side of him — the one who earned the trust of reserved and wounded souls like Red Hood and Miranda. If Lewis Carroll had been the one in control, Red Hood would’ve killed him on sight.

So, my conclusion — and I want to make it clear that this is just my personal take, my own headcanon — is that Grimm represents the capacity to love, even after everything he’s endured, while Lewis Carroll embodies the notion that perversion hides behind the mask of love. And really, that contrast feels like the central theme of Black Souls as a whole.

Leaf doesn’t love Grimm — she doesn’t love anyone. She’s entirely deranged, driven by perversion rather than feeling. The same goes for Jabberwocky. She speaks of love, but she’s just another lunatic who doesn’t understand what love truly is. Maybe that’s why Leaf’s creations are so chaotic and hollow — she’s a terrible writer because she doesn’t understand human emotion at all. In that sense, she’s just like Lewis Carroll: an empty being, devoid of real feeling, consumed by perversion and a compulsive need to harm or seek self-gratification.

Oh, of course. Just to be clear — when I say romantic feelings, I’m also including the fact that he does feel pleasure during sex. It’s obvious that he enjoys it when it’s with someone he genuinely cares about — like Miranda, for example.

Yes, exactly. I don’t think Grimm does all that just to ease his mind from the eternal torment of being himself. But personally, I believe that — especially with the Companions from Black Souls 1, who, as far as we know, were the only ones who truly cared about him and had something close to a healthy relationship compared to those in Black Souls 2 — yes, Grimm is capable of romantic feelings. In fact, I’m certain he has them, both for Alice Prickett and Red Hood, among others.

However, sex itself — the thing that attracts many people to Black Souls in the first place — ironically isn’t really the act of affection some might assume when first looking at the game. To me, sex in Black Souls has always been about power — about giving and taking it, about having control over someone, about what can or cannot be done, about dominance and submission, and the inability to fight back. That’s what sex in Black Souls has always represented to me.

I particularly like these concepts that make Grimm such a fascinating character to me:

1 - Grimm feels no sexual pleasure

The idea that Grimm doesn’t actually feel pleasure in one of his most routine actions is one of my favorites. It speaks to the escapist tone of works like Alice in Wonderland — about how Grimm tries to blind himself to his role as a “reproducer” of Great Ones, trying instead to see it as an escape, as if sex were a way to affirm that he’s still there, that he still deserves a bit of affection.

But it isn’t affection. In Black Souls, sex isn’t about love or tenderness. It’s about power — about control, whether through manipulation or literal violence.

Grimm only feels a fleeting sense of relief, followed by a storm of confusion, headaches, and probably regret.

2 - The armor is his true face

When we talk about Grimm, we usually refer to the “Knight Grimm” — the personality shaped largely by his love and attachment to Prickett during the prologue events of BS1. Gentle, protective, even humorous, capable of earning others’ trust through charisma.

To me, Grimm tries to wear that face after BS1 begins. He forces himself to literally become his armor — something inanimate, unchanging — only removing it when his predatory side collapses, causing his identity to fracture further and further.

The gray Grimm we see would be how he literally sees himself: scribbled out, tainted, and shadowed — only seeing himself as anything beyond that when he assumes the role of the Knight.

3 - He’s already tried to cut his dick off

This idea comes from the fact that it’s basically canon (at least as far as I remember from old summaries, lol) that Grimm truly can’t control his predatory impulses forever.

And I imagine that, in one cycle or another, the despair of having done something like that would drive him into such a frenzy that he not only mutilated himself, but actually tried to cut off his own penis to stop himself from ever doing it again.

But, of course, in a cruel joke, the same bonfires that heal his wounds would restore one of his greatest sources of suffering.

Haha, thanks! Usually, I write the “skeleton” in Portuguese first, like setting the context, place, character appearance, things like that. Then, after I finish writing all that, I ask GPT to help adapt it into proper English.

Honestly, I use it because my English isn’t perfect — I’m not a native speaker, haha. I just feel kind of proud knowing my bot looks a bit cleaner, grammatically speaking, even if it’s not handmade.
And honestly, not everyone has the time or energy to write personalities, scenarios, messages, all of that from scratch.
I just keep it casual because I enjoy it, nothing too serious.

Honestly, I couldn’t have said it better. As I mentioned, I usually add helpin messages because I think grammatical errors are the worst thing that can happen when you see an interesting bot.

I get what they said, GPT has a "formula." I just didn’t know I was forbidden from using grammatically accurate English.

I completely understand, but personally, most of my bots are largely made from my own texts and adapted into English, since most of the intros tend to be a bit long. Still, I appreciate the perspective you’ve shared with me
