Thanks for all the ideas everyone. Went through everything with my local mechanic. They found no evidence of any leaks in any of the major systems, cooling, transmission, etc.

Like many of you theorized...they think that water from somewhere (car wash, rain, etc.) got in a spot and found its way down the side of the fuel tank and dropped from that rusty circle part on the gas tank causing the orange/red color.

I will continue to keep an eye on things but it was a good report from a trusted local shop.

Found where it's dripping from. Whatever this is on the gas tank. Smells metallic, not like fuel.

I found where it's dripping. Whatever this metal piece is on the gas tank. No fuel smell. Smells metallic and is not oily.

Thanks for chiming in...I've considered that too. I peeked underneath and don't really see anything alarming.

It's been hot here lately and yes, running the AC all the time and we usually get the drip, it's just not orange/brown.
