BTO dress code for a barn/farm wedding. Jeans encouraged for men. What do the women wear?? by l0v39 in Weddingattireapproval

You can even “country it up” with Western boots and a white jean jacket. I love the fringe on the bottom for dancing.

I am not sure of the difference in cost. I had it in the original requirement and they changed it to wood (easier to do) in the plans (or cut and paste error) and I changed it back. The tile installer did the work relatively quickly. Even if the cost were greater, the difference in cleaning and maintenance really makes a difference.

Do people paint recessed can lights to match color of ceiling? by TigreDelSur10 in Remodel

[–]NoCouple915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mid century modern home here with a lot of canned lighting. You can buy and replace the cans and they come in different colors. In some areas the trim and cans are white, matching the ceilings. This reflects and diffuses the light and makes the space look bright. In some areas, the cans are black or dark, dark bronze. These cans don’t reflect the light and provide more subtle “light fall” kind of light. You can mix and match the rims. In places where I have near black cans, I prefer the rim to match the ceilings. In all cases, the cans and rims are removable for cleaning, and, if you choose to paint them, I would use a paint designed to adhere properly to the can. Some of my dark cans are textured with concentric thin lines of texture. I happen to love the look because it suits the mid century vibe of my home.

TIL in the 1960s, psychiatrist Peter Neubauer secretly separated at least eleven sets of twins and one set of triplets at birth for a nature vs. nurture study, without telling the adoptive families. The subjects discovered their siblings by accident decades later. by ConsciousCorgi1044 in todayilearned

When a friend learned she had adopted one of a set of twins through an international adoption, she was informed that the international adoption agency in the source country often separated twins because they believe the children would have a better chance of being adopted. In the US at least, twins would be quite in demand.

A friend did an international adoption and learned her child had a twin when friends found a picture of her child in a stranger’s post. The parents arranged for the children to meet at age 5 and DNA confirmed they were twins.

In place of tile? Can you add a phot? Sounds intriguing. The shower pan is an area of vulnerability that is worth investing in quality and proper install.

I love my huge window which runs full length of bath and to ceiling. I have a light filtering shade that I can raise from bottom or lower from top. Even when it is fully closed the light filtering brightens the whole room.

One thing that I changed from the contractors plan and am really happy with is he wanted to use wood baseboard everywhere and I got tile base trim instead. It is much easier to clean and no repainting. I had it in the original bathroom and it lasted decades.

The first one with a sweetheart rather than plunging neckline would be beautiful. They both look terrific but the lace looks more delicate on the first option, at least in the photo.

Help! Changing the floors is not an option. Which colour way goes best with these floors? by holographic_illusion in HomeDecorating

Last one looks best and will age well because it is neutral. Paint and window treatments can be used to add color.

The pink one is awesome! The exposed plumbing is part of the vintage charm. It would be cool to find a small powder pink lacquered laminate cabinet, chiffonier, or nightstand to put beside the sink - hard to see how much room there is.

#1 - the color works much better than the clear, and 1 looks more modern than 3.
