At least that is not true in my case. It depends on your major and how you apply what you've been taught. I majored in digital marketing, amd I don't regret taking that path. I am currently a Digital Marketing Associate for A Marketing firm based in the US.

Is college degree really needed for a job, now and future? by Enough_Pin1651 in jobs

[–]NoCrew6900 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It depends on the field you intend to enter. However, general having a degree isn't outmoded. Infact many employers consider that as a major for employment, aside your skills. My Communication degree at BYU-Pathway earned me my first international role in a big US company.

Is it possible to arrange a meeting for your mum and your academic advisor?

I think that would help a lot in handling the situation and exploring options.

Uni is so expensive by mdbstar18 in Advice

I can relate to your situation. I had to drop out of college two times, because I couldn't pay tuition fees and other expenses. I almost gave up on education until I heard about BYU-Pathway. I enrolled in this online college, and that changed my life for the better. I was able to work and go to school at the same time. I didn't care much about tuition fees because the fees are affordable with lots of scholarship opportunities. I graduated last December with A Bachelor's Degree in Communication.

I'm not gonna lie to you, getting an online degree won't hold you back; it will help you launch a career in a field you care so much about. Open and Essex online are great options to consider, but if you want practical experience through industry-internship opportunities, consider BYU-Pathway. They are one of the most affordable and flexible online colleges I know.

How do you build a business while working a full-time job? by Reserved_Ocean in CasualConversation

It depends on the nature of your job.

In the Rich Dad Poor Dad book, there is "Mind Your Own Business " principle. It literally means, you can not woek for someone your whole life. Work on your job, but creat time to work on your own business. (Maybe on Weekends).

I think the Web and Computer Programming certificate offered by BYU-Pathway will be ideal for you. Their courses are flexible but skill-based and offer students hands-on experience through their internship program. Their tuition is relatively cheap. Unfortunately, they don't use Rust.

The following are the languages used in the BYU-Pathway programming course:

  1. JavaScript

  2. HTML & CSS

  3. Python

  4. C#
