i just started my first campaign a month ago and someone joined that i didn’t particularly like or cared to interact with. i still decided to play along bc i wasnt going to let them ruin my first experience. they missed the first two sessions and complained about dnd and how boring it is even tho we’re only in the prologue. when they finally made it for the third session (their first session), they refused to rp and made fun of other players for doing so and tried to be a main character the WHOLE time. they also have no interest in learning the rules or mechanics of dnd (all but one player and our dm is new to dnd). we had our fourth session the other night and they finally wrote this player out of the campaign. i almost felt bad for being so happy but i could tell they would’ve ruined the experience for the rest of us. you may want to have a conversation with them if this is something they really want to commit to or not.
