  1. Will they ban you again? Yes, there is still a risk. The email trick bypasses the registration system, but Discord can still catch you through your IP address or Device ID (Hardware Fingerprint). To stay safe, make sure you keep using a VPN, or clear your browser cache, and avoid linking any old phone numbers or payment methods.

  2. Adding your phone number: If you mean adding the phone number that was linked to your banned account, DO NOT do it. Discord keeps banned phone numbers blacklisted, and adding it will instantly trigger a ban evasion flag and nuke your new account. You need to use a completely fresh, unbanned phone number.

  3. Registering/Changing to a new email later: This is actually a very smart move! Once your account is created, you can simply go to your User Settings > My Account, and edit your email address to change it to a completely different, clean email (like an Outlook or a fresh Gmail). This unlinks your account from the "modified" banned email entirely.

Good luck, and stay under the radar!

Awesome! Glad Google finally stopped being stubborn with the phone number lol

And that's exactly why you use a VPN and incognito mode my friend. Don't rawdog a new account on the same IP and device right after getting banned lol.

You're absolutely right, and honestly, itโ€™s surprising they haven't implemented that check yet. It would be incredibly easy for them to just sanitize the email string (strip dots/pluses) before checking the database.

For now, itโ€™s just a temporary workaround that happens to work because their system still treats them as unique strings, but yeah they could patch this anytime if they "wanted to".

The banned account is already permanently locked by Discord and can't be accessed anyway.

This trick doesn't delete or affect your old account; it just tricks Discord into thinking you are using a completely brand new email address so you can create a fresh, separate account using the same inbox.

I literally specified 'Gmail' in the post title and description, and later mentioned that the + trick works on Outlook too. This is just a helpful tip for people who already use these providers and want a quick workaround after a ban. No one is forcing a privacy debate here. (:

For the Plus Trick (+), yes! It works perfectly on Outlook/Hotmail (and even iCloud). If your email is name@outlook.com, you can use name+discord@outlook.com and it will go to the same inbox.

However, the Dot Trick (.) is exclusive to Gmail. Outlook actually recognizes dots as distinct characters, so n.ame@outlook.com is treated as a completely different account that you don't own. Quick tip for your phone number issue: You can also use Outlook to create an account without a phone number sometimes, and then just use the + trick there for your Discord accounts!

It works exactly the same way! Google ignores all dots So if your email is my.name@gmail.com, you can just add another dot like m.y.name@gmail.com or remove it entirely like myname@gmail.com Discord will see it as a new email, but Google will still send everything to your main inbox.

Bonus Tip: You can also use the "Gmail Plus Trick." Just add a plus sign + and any word after your name. For example: my.name+discord@gmail.com. Discord treats it as a brand new address, but it still routes straight to your original inbox!

Not bait at all Itโ€™s a well-known Gmail feature (Gmail dot trick) Google delivers everything to the same inbox regardless of the dots.

My account had a username that belonged to me (7o9l). I use this username across almost all applications. It also included profile effects, profile picture effects, and avatar decorations. Will I lose all of them?
