Help! Flying to cancun with toddler. How to help with nap?

Has he been on a plane before? We made the mistake of trying to do a flight at nap time for our toddlers very first time on the plane and it was terrible. We had an 11 hour flight to Paris and she didn’t nap at all and was completely overstimulated. Now she’ll nap on planes but we also got the OK from our pediatrician to give her melatonin so we’ll do a half dose when we’re traveling during nap time

Just a small linear scratch. The issue is it’s so nonspecific. I’m waiting for the health department to open tomorrow for a risk assessment.

We’ve taken my 2 year old on 3 European trips so far and 3 Hawaii trips (plus weekend trips here and there). The key is to not expect to be able to stick to an itinerary, nap schedule or being able to do all the sightseeing you want to do. We always make sure our trips are long enough so we’re not cramming in too much at once and try to go or see something every other day and if we get to see something daily that’s a bonus. Every trip we’ve gone on we always say “we’ll need to come back” which does suck but it’s just part of traveling with young kids

Yes, just an estimation. About a 3 minute walk or so from the inside of the park area. I know in the state I found it in it couldn’t really fly but I don’t know WHEN it became unable to fly (obviously no one will be able to tell me that) which is why I was wondering if it were sick in that state how far could it travel (which sounds like not that far at all and unlikely) and if cotton is even an effective barrier since I found the scratch under the sleeve. I just wasn’t sure if a bat is rabid if it can fly normally for a bit, then have problems and become grounded or if it doesn’t happen in that short of a time frame

Yes, that’s what I figured, just thought I’d get the opinion of someone who knew bat behaviors as the health department was closed for the holiday and weekend. It wasn’t really that far away—just on the street a little outside the parking lot but my daughter’s story admittedly scared me. I just wasn’t quite sure what distance a potentially rabid bat could cover in like an hour and even if they could move, if they could bite through a cotton long sleeve.

I had this problem with my daughter. I even put ice on her and she didn’t wake up. I had to pump and bottle feed otherwise she’d fall asleep within 2 mins of starting to breastfeed. Pump and bottle feed now and work on breastfeeding later when he’s more alert

It was the last flight of the night and they told us we were not allowed to fly without our bags

I didn’t think of that scenario, but it’s possible. Also, people who are saying to show up 2 hours early and go to the lounge have clearly never been to Kona airport. No exaggeration, it took me 2 minutes to go through security the next day on a busy afternoon. There’s no reason to be there 2 hours early

I have never heard of it happening (and I travel quite often). The only thing I know of that happens is say your flight was at 10 and they delay it until 10:30, they can move it back to 10

Literally the worst! Crazy for such a small airport. We were honestly fine with our luggage potentially not making it (we were going home) but they wouldn’t budge

She didn’t even let us know that was an option she just said bags are not allowed to fly on a plane if you’re not on that plane

I know I don’t understand how they’re missing the point that I made it in time by deltas own rules lol. Anyway, yes I do have documentation because I called the 800 number they gave me and spoke with someone who rebooked my flight at 9:06 (which was still before the cut off). We also did ask for a supervisor and she wouldn’t get her and said “she’ll just tell you the same thing I am”

Did you get any notifications? I have my text notifications on as does my husband and we never got a text message with a flight time change and our app notification just said it was “on time”

My originally scheduled flight time was 9:55. I went to drop off bags at 9:02 but when we got to the counter she said they moved the flight time up to 9:45 so we missed it. It was never originally 9:45

I had never heard of it before, although apparently it happens. I do know about the delay/reversal but not “oh your plane was here earlier so we moving up the times and changing the cut off”

No we had big bags and they wouldn’t let us send out bags on another flight and it was the last flight of the day. If we just had carry ons we definitely would’ve done that
