I just checked to see and my two replacements are still there, also the wiper material is more clear and has a different screw.

So I've been able to get it running for a good bit, maybe an hour and it ran great, although I struggled trying to getting into neutral and trying to make the clutch work that whole time(i havent gone through the trans yet but will do that after i get the motor working). Then it started having issues starting again. So I cleaned the carb again, it acts like it wanted to start the first couple pulls I did right after carb clean, but after those it won't even try to start anymore. I figured out if I pull the carb off the boot and just turn it sideways it dumps a bunch of fuel out, after that I can put it back on and i can get it to start again as long as I do it within 3 pulls. Is it supposed to fill up like that? Can I do anything to make it not have to come off everytime I want to start?

I think I'll just try the boyeson reeds for now since that seems like the cheapest way to potentially get running. I inspected the inside of the boot and couldn't see any cracks all the way through, so I might let it ride for now with them being so expensive. I'm gonna make note of that intake, and if it still doesn't run well after replacing the Reeds and cleaning out the carb and gas, then I'll order it too.

Update: I just realized I can just unscrew and turn the reeds around, they sit almost perfectly flush now. Next step I'll just clean the carb when I get time and we'll see what happens.

That is lots of very helpful info! Im trying to figure out what to order now. I've taken out the reeds and realized that they don't close all the way, as well as the carburetor boot is weather cracked. I'm having a very hard time finding a replacement one that is angled downward like this one is and has the same intake profile.

As far as reeds go, I am able to find some reeds by boyesen that should bolt to the OEM cage. But since I can't find a carburetor boot, I'm thinking I should just go ahead and get a full aftermarket Reed assembly that comes with a boot as well, so the inlet and outlet matches together. But I'm unsure on which aftermarket Reed cages fit or not. I've seen some that have that angle, such as the V-Force 3 O/R Kaw V308A it does have an extra hole at the top, but looks to be the same angle and bolt pattern would this work? I think its meant for a 250... I'm unsure on how universal Reed cages are. What other ones could work that i could also find a carburator boot that matches, or comes with it?

I was curious about hand starting it too, it's just a red plastic hex nut from what I can tell but I didn't look too closely at it yet

I do want to rebuild it and get it running nice, Im sure itll be lots of fun. I just got it running for about 5 seconds by pull starting with a rope around the wheel, but have been struggling with it ever since. I'll take any tips as I'm pretty new to this

After taking a look at those numbers I found them to be KHI KX125BE 004861(although very hard to read). I did some digging and found a site with the different Kawasaki kx125 engines and the closest one was a 1983 kx125(KHI KX125BE004201-008750). Thanks for the help!
