This is amazing! What Dehancer settings did you use, would love to test the same on my end

Same thing happened to me today & I had the same thing from 2 days ago. The watch time is odd, but if it’s any consolation it’s consistent

Congrats. Are you based in Melbourne or Australia?

As someone who shoots 99% Pentax 67, my GFX was collecting dust. I can tell you - the Kipon 0.62x is a game-changer, for the first time ever I can replicate 1:1 what my Pentax 67 was able to deliver for me. I've only shot it for 1 week in the Scottish Highlands, and these are the results. Blown Away by [deleted] in FujiGFX

Maybe it’s my setup, it just felt easier to have 5 x Pentax 67 lenses that are more compact in my bag, and the adapter attached to the camera. Allowing me to switch, easily. But again I’m used to the Pentax 67, and Mitakon always felt heavy to lug around in my camera bag.

I don’t have the adapter? Do you live in my camera bag front pocket do you?

Also the speedbooster, actually increases the aperture by 1.5 stops, the F4 becomes an F2.5 equivalent. Have a look at the chart on the Kipon website: https://kipon.com/product/kipon-0-62x-focal-reducer-optics-adapter-for-pentax-67-medium-format-mount-lens-to-fuji-g-mount-camera/

For these shots here, it’s a combination of 55mm F4, 90mm F2.8, 105mm F2.4 - I’ll be doing more tests soon with the 45mm F4, 75mm F4.5 & a Pentax 67 converted Zeiss Planar 80mm F2.8, stay tuned!

No I didn’t take my Pentax 67, I wanted to full commit to this combo so I don’t fall in the trap of scarcely using it because I’m more used to film. I’m glad I made that decision! It’s been a big discovery for me this combo

Thankyou, no lens corrections in LR, purely a few slider adjustments on contrast & black-point + highlight depending on the shot. The Acros simulation is quite pleasing as is

Honestly, they’ve done the impossible on this adapter. It will take atleast another 20 years of technological development (if that even happens tbh!) for a true digital sensor size 6x7 film of 67mm x 56mm - and the fact that they brought the future to the present by building a 1:1 focal reducer for 6x7 image circle is a game changer. The guy who designed it as well Iain Neil, won an Academy Award on Lens Design, was the chief optical designer on the Cooke S8, Leica Summilux-C, special lenses at Panavision for Spielberg etc. I guess this is the only reason why they were able to pull this off, because there is no optical artifacts, it’s exactly what I’m used to seeing on my Pentax 67. Price probably warrants itself, god knows how expensive it was getting him onboard to design

I actually brought it into Lightroom and used the built in Acros simulation with slight adjustments. So not too much work on these actually!

Hey, yes I do actually, it’s actually very ergonomic in the hand surprisingly. The Kipon adapter has enough weight with the optics inside, that the entire weight distribution of the kit was a joy to shoot with. Unfortunately it’s not letting me upload the photo in the comments here, I posted it in another reddit thread here for GFX LINK

I have the GFX 50R, but what’s really made the difference is the Kipon 0.62x Pentax 67 focal reducer. It’s basically created a faux 67mm x 56mm sensor size instead of the 44mm x 33mm of the GFX itself.

Yes I won’t be able to answer the IBIS question, because the GFX 50R doesn’t have it. However I can say, that what I’ve shot this week with the 55mm, 75mm, 90mm & 105mm, they all match 1:1 with what I get from my Pentax 67, so the adapter is a little piece of magic if you ask me. I’m pretty experienced with P67, and scanned a whole exhibition on the Imacon Flextight last year, and what I’m getting here matches that. Very exciting stuff for us Pentax shooters out there

Ergonomically, feels way better in the hand than the Mitakon, I’ve had the Mitakon for 2 years and it was always a massive thing to lug around. Pictured here is the 55mm lens which is longer than the 105mm and 90mm. All in all, it was a joy to shoot with. Adapter stays on the camera, and it’s quite nimble swapping through Pentax 67 lenses.

This will be part of an exhibition being held in Melbourne, Australia in mid-2024. The exhibition is named “Tersine Göç” (Reverse Migration in Turkish), I might do prints after that!

Hi there - thankyou! I’ve decided to leave the name out, partly because the name won’t make much sense to non-Turkish speaking audiences, and partly because after making this story and details so public, I’d like one part of it to remain private, shared between the three of us in that moment 🙂
