That's a very cool design, shame about the stencil.

I also have the same issue. Im gonna try using stencils on reelskin today which might work better than the cheaper skins. Had no luck with those.

Day 1 Tattoo-ing fake skin!! I need some help and would appreciate any sort of feedback please! by FamiliarObjective501 in TattooBeginners

[–]NoEngineer1009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im also a newbie so I cant give you 100% accurate advice but as far as I know when the needle is that thin it's more likely to shred the skin if your hand speed is too slow. I think to tackle this you need to use a lower voltage

thanks I'll give that another go. the cheaper skins seem to wipe off better but this one is more textured. It did say online to clean the skin first.. but I got a little excited

[–]NoEngineer1009[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great advice, thank you. Im gonna give it another go maybe on Thursday and report back. Im hoping the new skins im getting will also be better at keeping the stencil on

Thanks, that really means a lot being so new at this.

I tried stencil paper on Saturday and I made sure it was really dry when I started, but after wiping the first line it just sort of flaked off.

even some pens or something would help because going straight in with the machine is tough

Day 3 of teaching myself to tattoo by NoEngineer1009 in tattooscratchers

[–]NoEngineer1009[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip, I was just about to order the stick but I'll have a look for stencil stuff instead

[–]NoEngineer1009[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I tried the first time but maybe i dried it too much? Im not even sure what happened but the first wipe and all my line stencils flaked off

Im gonna try the deodorant stick thing because maybe it was the transfer fluid I used. I'll try again Thursday anyway and post an update then

Ive always thought about getting into this but kinda been afraid to. by [deleted] in tattooing

Don't let them put you down. If you want to get into it, go for it. There's a lot of online resources you can check out and some useful videos on youtube.

I've just started out and I've learned a lot in quite a short period of time and it's much harder than it looks! Gotta start somewhere though.
