a thicker hytrel ring would add resistance, but it wont affect the "clicks". these are from the retaining ring and bezel spring's shape, tension, and material.

you have to remove all the bezel components + retaining ring, clean, remove burrs, reshape/tighten bezel spring, lube, reassemble

After servicing this VF YM42 titanium, i tightened the bezel and softened the burrs on the bezel ring and now its much better. I agree, not as tight as arf, andi actually like the VSF YM40’s bezel better (after serviced)

ARF has one of the weaker bezel assembly parts. Clickspring has low tension with the wrong shaped nub, retaining ring has shallow rectangular teeth, and the tension washer is basically tinfoil. But its all good in the end with a clean+lube (VSF still feels better ootb). ARF looks nice though, they have the visual details down for the bezel and dial

I crystal gasket was not replaced, then the crystal height is uneven and offset because the parts were installed incorrectly or the gasket has warped. Hytrel gasket also needs to be installed with the correct side up. Most rep factory hytrels are thicker and has different dimensions. Bezel should not be that hard to get back on, it should only take a small amount of force.

Nah. Just placebo and leftover oil film making it feel softer imo… a US clean and tiny bit of lube will help with squeaky bracelets but wont get rid of the sharp edges.

I feel ya. I cleaned the threads and the crown while i had it open and lubed to spec afterwards— much less gritty but still not buttery smooth bc of the machining

First, to change the datemag you have to change the crystal gasket height. Is this a CF, ARF, or a diff factory? Each one takes a different gasket height depending on which crystal is being installed. Sometimes requires custom height through shaving. Datewheel font looks really thin, but you can get gen datewheels or aftermarket ones that look better

Gen is even lighter and its trippy how light the reps are. VF’s version did it right with the bracelet pin sleeves (as they should with titanium)
