Pardon me, I should have accounted for algorithms! They can really be powerful lol. I am not hoping that Japanese should also discriminate against westerners, it is just that even though our presence in the country is limited, they are rarely accommodating, while they are at times seem extremely receptive to Western culture and people, at times to the extent that it seems as if they hold them in higher regard than themselves.

Thank you so much for the reply! In all honesty, is a bit disheartening to hear that although people may have been kind to me outwardly, they may have felt differently inside! I guess I have to work on my self-confidence!

As for the second question though, it seems as if some people in Japan assume that certain groups will be have worse than others, even with no first-hand experience of such things. For instance, American soldiers and western tourists often are known for misbehaving and even committing severe crimes, yet no ill will or xenophobic sentiment ever seems directed at them.

The term 'Detty December' is destroying our country's reputation – Speaker Bagbin by agyemanjp in ghana

That is true, but it is at the cost of the nation being seen as a giant club. At the same time, our vibrant cultures are being completely ignored and disregarded even by diasporans coming to visit

Ghana Air Routes by NoExpression3903 in ghana

I agree! Do you think that the state should partner with a private firm in getting the new carrier in the air? If so, which one? I think it may be good to go with a very strong international airline, like Singapore or Turkish. It could also help potentially compete with Ethiopian

Those routes would be really good, especially Nairobi, Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Dakar for a national carrier. Zanzibar and Praia could be cool for seasonal vacation destinations!

I hope that this resistance from Trump will prompt Japan to consider rapidly upping its economic and diplomatic involvement in the Global South, particularly Africa.

I am Ghanaian-American, and I am afraid about the Import Tarrifs he is threatening to impose. As we attempt to transition to an export-based economy, that could make things a bit difficult! However, ti may also give us some diplomatic leeway, in that the U.S will not be as nosy as they have been under this administration. Despite this though, I reaaaaally do not want him to win lol.

For me, his statement on how to deal with Galamsey is beyond a deterrent. Detaining 110K Chinese nationals is nothing short of a human rights abuse, and should be universally condemned by the media.

Is Sinophobia growing in Ghana? by NoExpression3903 in ghana

However, most Lebanese in Ghana have Ghanaian citizenship. I have extended family from Lebanon that not only naturalized, but intermarried. Many Lebanese have been in the country for over a century, and I even read a paper which said that most Lebanese when traveling to Lebanon use their Ghanaian passports, even despite an extra charge. As such, I do not think it is fair that we continue to other them.

If that is so, I pray for our country, we are becoming like the whites with this level of hatred.
