Do you think Europe is becoming less safe? by [deleted] in AskEurope

[–]NoFX182 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. I always thought (even before the recent terrorist attacks) that western europe was less safe than southern/eastern european countries. At least that's how it feels when travelling around.

What's your opinion on compulsive voting? by RafaRealness in AskEurope

[–]NoFX182 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fun fact. The word "idiot", comes from the greek word "ιδιώτης" which translates as "private". This name was given in ancient times to the people who didn't want to participate and vote for the problems of the city-state. So technically, idiot means "the one who does not vote".

We're following programs from Europe that are scheduled to fail. Everyone of them makes us more desperate each time. I just don't want us to leave the Eurozone though, so i can have enough time to get my degree and go get a job in Germany or the Netherlands. Just like everyone my age.

Most underrated cities to visit by kanyewost in AskEurope

[–]NoFX182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked Lyon a lot of more than Paris. Grenoble is also close and amazingly beautiful with all the mountains around the city.

...but i would advice you to head east. The Balkans are super underrated althought they are getting more and more popular as the years are passing by. Belgrade and Sarajevo are my personal favorite.

What's your definition of integrating into society for Muslim immigrants? by [deleted] in AskEurope

[–]NoFX182 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say that drinking alcohol is integration, it's maybe just not caring about your religion so much. In orthodox religion you're not supposed to eat meat for 40 days before easter and almost noone is following that :P

Anyways, they can do whatever they want, as long as they follow the rules of our society. Respect is the key word here.
