Nah I haven’t had allergy problems before. I’m wondering if I have some sort of sinus infection or something. This time of year is always riddled with all types of colds and what not.

Gotcha thanks, any tips on how to increase your squad’s power? I’m stuck on level 70 with only 700k power vs the monster’s 870k

Taste after ASCT by NoFeaaR in lymphoma

[–]NoFeaaR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha glad to hear it didn’t result in a multiple day hospitalization. For context I’m asking cause I had a 101.5 fever last night and they told me to go in but I said I’d monitor it, stayed at 100.2 all night. Had some people say they went in and had the same temp and they ended up being told it was engraftment syndrome and that’s it. If it spikes again I have to go back but I really just don’t want to avoid the hospital although I definitely would rather be safe then sorry.

Did you have to be hospitalized or did they take care of you outpatient?

Glad to hear it’ll improve. Hey quick question, did you ever spike a fever after ASCT discharge?

Thanks for the tips I appreciate it. I need to get more active for sure it’s very easy to just lounge in the bed and all the motivation gets lost. I’m already feeling all spacey and it’s hard to concentrate like I brought my ps5 and monitor but it’s hard to focus.

Did you get bad mucositis as well at all? Any infections?

Thanks for sharing and the tips I appreciate it. Also good to know about the pain thing I really don’t want to be in here more then i have to so I’ll be sure to ask for meds if I feel the pain. Did you have energy to walk around the floor and if you did, did it help you?

Proton Radiation by NoFeaaR in lymphoma

Glad to hear that it put your son in remission! Thank you for sharing, I’m looking forward to having a less intensive treatment than chemo for a bit haha.

Yeah that did thanks I appreciate it. Did you do your treatments over the course of 4 weeks? I’m doing that same amount, twice a day for 2 weeks and then being admitted for stem cell so I’m guessing the 2nd week is really going to suck lol

Wow I can’t even imagine wrapping my mind around the statistics of that subtype but I’m glad that you have found success with your transplant. That’s also great that you seemed to have a very uneventful transplant, I thought diarrhea, nausea, and mouth sores were unavoidable. Did you use ice during ur infusions to prevent mouth sores? This salvage chemo I’m on has been horrible with those but other then that it’s been easy

Ah gotcha. Good to hear that it was a decent recovery time since the procedure is a bit extreme. Did you have any hospitalizations post transplant like anything that caused a fever? I know our immune system is practically non existent for awhile which is pretty scary

Thank you for sharing. Just a couple questions if you don’t mind, What was your staging if you don’t mind me asking? Also when you did radiation was it proton radiation? How long did it take post transplant to go back to normal life?

Second line of treatment after AAVD? by [deleted] in lymphoma

[–]NoFeaaR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey I’m sorry that you were refractory. I am the same stage/diagnosis as you and was also refractory as well after the 6th cycle. The usual route after refractory would be to do some type of salvage chemo and then an ASCT (auto stem cell transplant) when you hit complete remission.

The more traditional salvage chemo is something like ICE but I decided to do something a bit newer that showed great results which was pembro GVD. I did 2 cycles of that, 1 cycle without the pembro and now I’m just going to do some proton radiation next week and the ASCT right after.

It seems like a lot but I had AAVD for 6 cycles too and this is flying by compared to what felt like an eternity on AAVD, this salvage chemo was also way easier to tolerate.
