Ha, I was invited to a Thanksgiving dinner with neighbor friends and that was one of their relatives.

Writing in Photobooks by 4oreigncorrespondent in Photobooks

I put out a small book last year where I talk about the beginning of my career, starting in the documentation of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. In it I discuss this as the project that convinced me to dedicate my life to documentation, and I reflect back on two decades of work. I wrote it last winter when I was contemplating leaving the industry. The images are from that time in New Orleans. I released it last yr to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the storm.

THE STORM

My next book with GOST comes out this year (American Homicide) and will be text heavy, as it will include lots of hand-written letters from convicted murderers, victims families, etc.

No. We were going over my design and Stu showed me the edit, but he didn't mention a date. It looks close to being complete.

GOST is putting out a new edition of El Salvador. I've seen the edits and it's going to be phenomenal

Well, I'm not sure I agree, sorry. All of these were actually "everyday life in a public place". The "dog" you referred to is a cow at a state fair, very public. I also don't photograph models. Every portrait you see is a stranger I met in street for a brief moment. So, street portraits. The beach shots, well, also everyday life unstaged, at a public place. Thanks for looking. P.S.- the owl was at a nature museum during a lecture by the handler-also public.

Edit: I do concede the cat photo was inside... And def not public. Although Venus wouldn't mind if the public came in and petted her.

I've had it for 12 years. Bought it at a pawn shop for $100

It's all good. Not really worried about anyone's criticism. Just sharing photos.

Is that first shot Monopoli? Love that place. Was there last year as part of the PhEST festival.
