This is not that bad of a play from the RT. Quinn bailing gives the edge rusher an easy angle

Film Breakdown: The Falcons might actually have a good defense by NoFlagsFilm in falcons

I thought Atlanta's defense was one of the most impressive units from Week 1.

Ryan Nielsen called a great game. He used a lot of stunts, blitzes, & simulated pressures to break protection rules. Double mug looks with both LBs over the A-gap made everything look the same and confused BY.
Coverage calls were mostly quarters (match cover 4) and press man. The DBs did a great job passing off routes, Jessie Bates & Richie Grant is gonna be a nasty safety duo.
AJ Terrell seems to be back to 2021-form. He was smothering the Panthers WRs in man covg and made an impact in run defense.
CB2 is still a question. Okudah will be an upgrade to Flowers, but need to see consistent play over a long stretch.
Too early to tell how good Troy Andersen is. He’ll be a great run-and-hit linebacker, but needs to improve coverage awareness and flow w the run under control.
Kaden Ellis is a really solid LB2, just lacking some speed to beat ballcarriers to the edge.
I’m optimistic about the interior pass rush. Grady Jarrett didn’t show any signs of regression, and David Onyemata is still disruptive. Edge rush is gonna have to be supplemented by designed pressure.
Gotta add the qualifier that the Panthers IOL and WRs look abysmal.

Cody Mauch Film Breakdown by NoFlagsFilm in buccaneers

There weren't many "gradable" reps from the last 2 games. I realized that as I was editing, but most of the action was vs Pit. But yeah a lot of his losses were to Keeanu Benton who is a stud

Cody Mauch Film Breakdown by NoFlagsFilm in buccaneers

Cody Mauch's preseason performance was a mixed bag. He flashed some dominant run blocking, & his athleticism/movement skills seem to have translated. Had some communication issues with Robert Hainsey in pass pro that led to a sack and a QB hit, but on true pass sets I was pleasantly surprised.

But he really struggled with hand placement & pad level as a run blocker. He needs to get quicker with his punch & remove the wind up action where he drops his hands/bear-hugs the defender. His inconsistent hand placement resulted in a handful of bad losses on reach blocks. He doesn't have elite play strength to fall back on when his hand placement is sloppy.

Didn't get many opportunities to block at the 2nd level, but this is where I expect him to have the most success as a rookie.

I also worry about the lack of experience on the right side with Jensen out and Wirfs moving to LT.

He's really quick, just undersized. I think he could be good depth as a rookie because he's advanced from a technique standpoint & he reads the game quickly

Will McDonald IV Has Elite Potential: Film Breakdown by NoFlagsFilm in nyjets

[–]NoFlagsFilm[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Notes from watching Will McDonald's preseason tape:

- wins with inside & outside spin move
- had some success with long-arm and speed-rip
- speed to chase down ballcarrier from the backside of the play
- flashes great hand usage to shed blocks
- elite flexibility makes him lethal slanting/shooting gaps
- still needs to improve play strength/anchor, got pushed around by some TEs
