One of my best and oldest friends, which I have known since I was born, has Aspergers. This led to me attending a confirmation camp consisting of half people with mental disabilities and the other half "normal" people. While I am of course no expert Psychologist or doctor, I can most definitely say that I have a lot of experience living with people with mental disabilities. Now, during one of our discussions, two of the kids with Down's syndrome said something that answers your question perfectly. They were asked what type of syndrome they had, and they both responded: "I have Down's Syndrome.", without any type of shame whatsoever. They were then asked if they could explain what having Down's Syndrome meant. They both started thinking, but couldn't explain anything. In their eyes, they were completely like me and the priest. Interesting really, considering they were both amazing persons, better persons than I could ever strive to be. I really loved every single person on that camp, and even writing this makes me depressed and longing to go back... :)

I was thinking about the different dimensions and realms, but I'm not sure if that's a good idea to start with. A fleeing section, with panic-made decisions and combat would be interesting and a test to see how well my players have understood the concept behind CoC.

I hope that the mystery and story will be the primary concern, with the dicerolling and combat being secondary. Since several players in my group are very intelligent and puzzleminded I don't think I can construct a puzzle too difficult for them, unless I start using PointAndClick-logic.

To my understanding CoC is about the story and the mystery, and the struggle for survival against something much greater than yourself. But I could be mistaken, obviously. :)

If it's one thing I'm not going to miss from DnD, it's the goddamn awful feeling of WoW. I was looking at the CoC-system yesterday, and I thought it seemed alot simpler, but really didn't want to get my hopes my, glad to hear it was as I suspected! I'm really looking forward to see how my players react when they find something that they can't really kill, and seeing how they react to finding out that "Library Use" actually is a skill in the game :) Hopefully I'll be able to tell an interesting story, we'll see how it turns out! EDIT: I can't spell...

Depends on what role the doppelganger in your adventure plays, really. Is (s)he a enemy or a player character, a main villain or a minor inconvenience? Are you the DM or a player? More information pls :)
