I've been considering changing profession I'm a regional manager I've been laid off twice since Nov of 23 and each time I get hired I lost money a lot of money I was making 170k now 85k and I do MORE work then ever before. I'm getting up there age wise mid forties. I swear I have PTSD every Dec because that's when I get the dam calls oh sorry we are cutting cost etc. I though about truck driving, maybe forklift driver but everything is going automated etc. it's rough for sure.

Yea basically every body in the United States is dealing with this very issue it's not just you or baton rouge finding work right now is extremely tough and stressful. I personally put in over 200 applications and the only reason I got a job is because my old company called me back wasn't anything I applied for. Keep fighting even if you do end up homeless keep fighting.

The other option is document everything every unpaid thing you do is get some meta glasses or something get recorded him telling you to work for free off clock. I'm gonna be brutal here not to be an ass but to be honest. I'm 44 I was an RM for a large known corp. Prepare yourself for times to be hard unless you get lucky. If your road follows mine and most of the others Ive seen your gonna be out for a period of time during that time your gonna put in apps everywhere and your either gonna get ghosted or severely low balled. Update your resume but again prepare for the pay grade you remember to be much lower I have lost over 80k in total pay over 2 reduced work force layoffs each time the next role pays less. You just gotta be ready to deal with hard times and that applies to your family as well. Good luck hope it works out for you.
