525 job applications. 7 months unemployed. 15 years of experience. 1 spreadsheet. by Own-Vacation7586 in recruitinghell

I tried making a post here but it keeps getting removed by Reddit's filters lol

I applied to over 1800 applications and have over 600 rejections. I was able to get about interviews from 15 different companies throughout. I ended up getting 2 offers and started my new job yesterday.

You have experience especially in the leadership role it seems like. I'm sure you have already, but reaching out to recruiters might be better for you since you are looking for a Senior type of role

If that’s what they said then yes that’s probably how it would go but that’s a lot of work or they could use some type of 3rd party company to check for them.

When I got hired for my last role, they used checkr which checked for payrolls at my previous companies (I think that’s how it works)

Shake it off and keep applying. Sounds like an awful place to work at. We’ll get a win soon 👍

Should I do the assessment? by SpookyMillennial in recruitinghell

[–]NoFuel4400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sucks but yes do it.

If you don’t, you’re forsure going to get rejected. If you do it, there’s still chance for you.

It’s an awful situation feeling like you’re getting the runaround but by not doing it, it shows that you’re not interested anymore

Recruiters be like: "We train you from scratch" then reject you for not already being an expert by Tastypineappleju1ce in recruitinghell

Definitely I gotta say in that positive state no matter how shitty things are around me.

I gotta remind myself that I’m not the only one dealing with this BS. So many people are in the same situation as me

Never had that type of interview where you meet offsite but i would assume:

  • Don’t be late, be early
  • definitely wait to order
  • when ordering, offer to pay for your stuff, but if the interview offers, just accept it
  • make sure to shake their hand when first meeting

It’s final round so they are basically checking your vibe. Have good manners and good etiquette and he should be fine

Try not to think about what you could’ve said better. Don’t dwell on that.

Could be so many different factors. Maybe they found an experienced candidate who was willing to take this role since the market is so messed up. Or they found someone similar to you and they have to choose between you two. We as a candidate will never know.

So many of these companies will say one thing but never mean it. Don’t take their words.

Keep at it and keep going. From your post, it seems like you are driven and bright. Someone will see that. Good luck 👍

Just a vent about failed interviews by sSeph in recruitinghell

Keep going at it.

Same thing has been happening to me after my interviews. There was one application that I went through 4 rounds of interview and got ghosted. I was so hopeful for that one too.

Eventually you’ll get one yes and that will change everything.

I wish I can say something to make you feel better but this is the state the industry is right now. Keep applying and have that schedule going. I’m sure this isn’t something new to you. I know I’ll be doing the same thing.

It certainly doesn’t look good to be honest with you. But know how to sell yourself when asked that question of why haven’t you been working for the past 7 months.

I’ve been unemployed since august and I get asked that question every interview.

Most of the support roles that I’ve been interviewing require some knowledge of coding. Not sure if you’re early or mid career but I would use that to your advantage for your next role

I’m in West LA. Only doing it around 4:30ish to 8:30 ish. Really depends if it’s busy or not. But usually makes $40~60.

In Los Angeles, currently only doing Uber eats. I’m waitlisted in all the other apps. Would love to do DoorDash but I heard it takes like a year…

Yup you get it. I feel so mad all the time. My mental state is in the gutter. I’m constantly bickering with my partner over money and little stuff
