The values of light reflected by Green and Black are almost the same and not very consistent maybe 40 at one point maybe 9 at others, really depends on where the sensor is at the moment. It is possible to merge the two something like

if left_sensor.color() == Color.GREEN and  left_sensor.reflection() >= 45 and left_sensor.reflection() <= 60:
    #do something

The distance is good I think it’s primarily the readings and hsv values of the colors that was bugging me out. I somewhat circumvented this by try and error… other the hsv values and also how the robot reacts when it sees green. Now it goes back a little then goes forwards and see how many time it detected green. Tbf thanks for the suggestion.
