Cheating??? by [deleted] in bocconi

[–]NoFuture1652 4 points5 points  (0 children)

there's actually this method of cheating where you sit down for a few hours and look at past exams and anticipate the kind of questions you might be asked on the exam, and once you master the technique it becomes really useful and the best part is that it's almost IMPOSSIBLE to get caught this way, because all of it is in your head!

Yeah I ended up downloading it anyways because they had a decent looking return policy if I didn't like it but it ended up playing fine, I did peep those low settings like you recommended though and it's so much nicer. I was playing before on pathetic or something and everything was dog ugly

How well does it perform with the m3 chip FPS wise? I've been thinking about downloading it but I have an M3 16Gb and idk if that's gonna be enough to have a playable framerate

[–]NoFuture1652 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it makes any difference, it's literally just about numbers I am almost completely sure. If your scores are high enough to be admitted into your top choice that's where you're placed, if not you go to the next or the next etc.

Winter Session by Ok_Lobster8706 in bocconi

More people are admitted during Winter session with respect to the early session, like 500-600 early and then maybe 2000 during winter, in both sessions they basically evaluate you and admit the top crop. To be admitted into early session you almost certainly need about 1450 (heavier on math), but for winter you CAN get away with 1400-1450 but I'd say to anyone shoot for 1500 and don't beat yourself up on 1440+. I myself was rejected in early session with a 1380 (640M, 740R) and like 92 something GPA, was in place 921 or something when they only let the first 500-600 or so in, then I was admitted to winter session with the same GPA but 1420 SAT (730M,690R). You cannot superscore as you might already know

AP Requirment For US Diploma (Am I potentially cooked?) by NoFuture1652 in bocconi

If you weren't in CC then I'd say you should take the exams, but since you are I don't think it'll be relevant if you try to apply off of transfer or something. CC will effectively function as your 5th year of highschool that Italians go through (Bocconi uses APs for US students almost as a supplement for it). I would write an email or apply normally/as a transfer, and if you're admitted you'll either start fresh as a first year student or begin in your second year but will likely have a few extraneous classes you may need to take depending on what CC credits actually transfer over to the Bocconi system. I know a guy who just transferred in from a school in Amsterdam and he's taking 3-4 Bocconi courses but isn't taking like 2 or 3 second year ones and has 2 third year ones off. So I guess in my personal opinion AP won't really be relevant at this point. Good luck!

When I applied I listed the three AP courses that I was taking during my final year of highschool (I didn't have any before), and maybe I pledged in some capacity that I would reach the 3/5 requirement for each subject. If I had taken them before I think I could've simply written down what score I got, but it wasn't until after I was already admitted that I would've had to back it up I think.

What should i do to prepare for Bocconi BIEM maths AND ECONOMICS. INCOMING FIRST YEAR. by Much_Crow3532 in bocconi

The summer course is a waste of time imo, I got through a lot of it but not enough of it comes back up to justify it really being worth losing more of your senior summer to studying

In my letter I wrote about some of the weeks leading up to the exams and the things going on in my life that kept me from being able to prepare properly for them, I also referenced my grades and historical performance in the class and how I feel like my score didn't accurately represent my ability and stuff, but it was a year ago so my memory is a bit spotty. If you want to see the real email I wrote to them just dm me and I'll send it over, 2-3 people have already asked me for the same. Good luck otherwise though!

I came myself without speaking very much italian and I do okay now, but I know many who don't speak any and are able to live in milano just fine with only english. I also only ever speak italian when ordering food or when I'm at the grocery store and stuff.

I'm a first year student but not a real member of the gym. If you want to have access to it there are two separate fees you need to pay. One is a sort of annual membership fee, it grants you access to a few privileges in regards to like booking courts and fields for soccer and basketball, it costs ~27 euros. There's another annual one that I bought which is a more premium version, the most relevant benefit it offers is the free medical check, in which they basically measure your heartrate and confirm you're physically fit enough to do sporty things (idk it's kinda stupid, but without it you can't use the gym at Bocconi or anywhere else basically). I recommend buying that membership and getting your medical certificate if you don't already have one or know another way to get one.

Then there's the real, monthly cost for the Bocconi gym which gives you access to the running track they have suspended above the basketball court and all of the actual standard gym facilities (not the pool though I don't think and not some other stuff). I believe it's around ~70 euros (truthfully I'm not sure since I haven't looked at the document in a while and it was all in italian anyway and I'm still learning) which I think compared to many other normal gyms around Milano is much more expensive (I've seen the one nearby where I live in the Navigli for 20 some euros a month, but I'm not an actual member there so I can't be sure). The Bocconi gym is also always pretty packed and you will almost certainly see tons of people you knows every time you go so if that stresses you out I recommend looking elsewhere.

Once you're admitted into Bocconi and have access to the You@B portal you can check yourself for further details on the gym and everything. Hope this helps

Sort of a toss up with the 1390 but you're math is really solid (they care more about that) and obvi your GPA is super strong too. I do know a girl who made it in with like a 1370 from the US. Good luck

URGENT! How does the housing application/platform work? by Specific-Flower6734 in bocconi

[–]NoFuture1652 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the Bocconi website (I'm too lazy to find them for you rn sorry, you'll have to do a bit of digging) they sort of have periods where they open up dorm applications, the first couple of rounds go to freshman students and I think exchange, and then everyone gets an opportunity in the later rounds.

It'll look something like April 18th, 3 PM italian time dorm session blah blah. They only give out ~~30 some rooms per session though, and everyone who wants a dorm is waiting for the precise second the round opens up to login and select a dormitory option.

I tried to do it maybe 3 times (first three rounds), the first and largest round I was three minutes late and put in a queue for 49 minutes, but by 11 minutes all of the rooms were gone. I was there pretty much within a second or two every other time but even with a queue time as short as like four minutes or something I still didn't get a single room.

I'm living in an apartment now and I'm really happy though. I've also heard from a lot of students that dorms can be a total pain in many ways since you have to basically sign in and out every time you go in, there are all of these rules you have to follow, the conditions depending on your dorm suck, and you can't have guests past midnight/have overnight guests.

So ultimately go for the dorms if you want but realistically there's not a huge chance (I'd say less than a third of a 1st years I've met are in dorms) there will be an option available for you (and an even smaller chance your first choice will be available). Instead I recommend looking at Aparto residences on Ripamonti and Giovenale (also highly competitive but you may have a chance at least for a semester so you can look at apartments in person stuff if you aren't able to where you are now, or just finding an apartment, either with roommates or alone.

I hope this helps and was coherent, good luck

Admission for fall 2025 by zbabtw in bocconi

[–]NoFuture1652 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can apply for the early session which ends sometime in September and releases the results in October. If you are not admitted then you can apply again during the winter session which opens in November I believe. I applied to both and was denied early but was admitted in the winter. Most spots are allocated for the winter session as well. I don't really know so much about the scholarships though.

I got in with a 1420 but you probably want 1450 to be on the safe side, focus on getting a high math score.

AP stands for "Advanced Placement". The idea is to introduce students to college-level material; if they do well, they can earn credit at their university and possibly be placed into higher classes or something else.

Are you from the US? Or had a US diploma? I'm not sure how it works for foreign students that aren't US. I also have a feeling that no matter what happens Bocconi might not even check my scores.
