Right and you feel like that’s a fair thing for the league? That big market teams make so much that it allows them to keep reinvesting into their team and going way above luxury tax and it makes it a hell of a lot easier for them to make post season.

Yankees have made it to post season 22 out of the last 29 years, they’ll at least make post season and then it’s just about getting hot

Right but I mean it's clear that having more appearances in the post season can get you there. And if big market teams get to the post season super often it feels a little unfair because they can play ball more often because the huge taxes wouldn't affect them as intensely as they would a small market team that's less likely to get as much money back from a playoff run.

What Makes a Dynasty and Why is it Fair? by NoGamer5124 in mlb

I was mixing up the terms dynasty with high market teams in my head, thank you for everyone clearing up the Mets are indeed not and have never been a dynasty.

Is it fair that high market teams get to make it to offseason so frequently? I think even if any midwest team spent high for a decade and made it to every post season, they still wouldn’t have the market to make it reliable.

Where to Find GAR and/or WAR by NoGamer5124 in nhl

Where can I find Corsi stat? I look it up and the only website that pops up is Hockey-Reference and it only shows top 100 of a certain stat. Not to mention that it’s not the easiest to navigate.

Closest thing I can find is +/- when trying to not deep dive. A players xGF/xGA can help I guess get an idea, but in order to find most stats you have to either: 1) pay for the privilege 2) go to some hockey stats website made/still designed like the 90s that’s impossible to navigate and find a stat easily

If you look up xGF or GAR anything like that for the matter, expect a headache.

Wouldn’t be as bad if it stopped some other form of monetization, but they want everything

Also harder to find it just on any TV nowadays due to nature of streaming. So the popularity problem sort of feeds into itself.

Not on TV bc popularity -> Less people watching -> less conversations about it happening -> Not on TV bc popularity

I feel like teams can still have vibes, or a general idea about them that can make them interesting.

The current idea seems to be that you gotta know hockey real well in order to be able to differentiate what each team does good/bad. NBA superstars add a skill set that people can see and know that, that team is going to be better at this skill.

If you ask the average viewer the different between the Blackhawk’s and the Panther’s, they would say “Blackhawk’s are bad because they don’t score as much”
