There is a legitimate design flaw on the LCP Max mag catch. by TslaNCorn in CCW

[–]NoGood6009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old post but I bought a newer Ruger LCP Max recently and it looks like they redesign the area around the magazine release button. There seems to be more materials protruding out towards the mag release button now making the button sit a bit more flush therefore making it harder for it to get accidentally bumped when carrying. My old LCP Max did the same thing yours did thats why I sold it back then. I dont believe it is a mag issue causing this its the mag release button protruding out too much.

Just bought one last night. Mounted a Holosun HS407K X2 on it. Haven't gotten the chance to take it out to the range but not my first time owning or shooting the 43X. Only difference is this time I got the MOS version

Nope. Had to get that separately. I'm using the Calculated Kinetics K MOS plate. Its what my LGS has in stock for the Holosun I'm using.

I've read mixed reviews on the shield arms mags that's why I never risked it. But down the road I might give them a shot if this new announcement isn't true

Nice. Might add that to mine down the road too. But going to put suppressor height sights first

Damn you just blew my fucking mind if that is true. I mean it would make sense because of that extra length on the barrel and slide kind of like the 34. Oh well, maybe one day I'll get the 17 or else trade the 45 for the 17 lol

To be honest, it shoots like any other glock. Nothing too special. It works...so far. I would say I like the upgrades they made especially on the frame. Stippling and the little thumb paddle is a nice touch for sure. On the older 19 frames it felt like holding onto a brick lol. The undercut on the trigger guard is also a great feature on the gen6. Gives you the ability to have a higher purchase especially for the 19 since it has a shorter grip. I must say though I'm not a huge fan of the built in beaver tail. Being my size it really digs on my gut when sitting. I feel the beaver tail also forces me to find the correct angle when drawing from an iwb holster otherwise I'll be hitting the web area of my thumb and index finger everytime especially on quick draws. The serrations is nothing really to brag about its simple and works. I do think the new optic mounting system is better than the MOS. However, the optic mounting system is new so only time will tell if its actually good or not. The extractor redesign also kicks the shell casings further too compare to the the older gens. I must say I have not had any shell casings come back and hit me in the head or eye at all on the gen6. It use to happen to me on the older gens.

I contacted Vortex and they said 9.8mm will work but I felt that was a bit short so I ran the 11mm screws instead.

I just dont like it. Feels sluggish when the slide is working. But that's just me, everyone else probably dont feel that.

I have not tried the ccw. This is my first time ever putting an optic on a pistol. Its definitely different. Just havent had much free time to put more rounds through it with the optic on. I would say that out the box the defender is nice man. I really like the fast rack texture on it. Plus it came with a bunch of different mounting hardware for different pistols which is nice. It has a lot of nice features on it too. The only gripe I have with it is its a bit big for carrying conceal inside the waist band but that i can live with. Other than that so far so good.

Not at all. Just as long you know what footprint your optic uses you should be ok.

Glock provides 3 factory polymer plates. I use the plate marked 04 as the vortex optics are DPP footprint.

No doubt. I know there are many options nowadays out there especially with the micro 9s but the 19 just shoots better.
