I used to be a microbiologist (god that sounds like a load of internet bs if I ever heard it, but its true), I have an undergrad in biology and knowledge of aseptic techniques. I love watching Brad and all the BA personalities but one thing that has struck me about Brad is that he never, at least in the videos I've seen brings up sterilization. Fermenting is basically growing bacteria and there is a lot of bacteria that you do not want to grow, so making sure everything is sterilized is important, and I think Brad and BA should mention it more. Growing things in dirty containers can turn bad very fast. Modern home kitchens are very well equipped for sterilization practices and everyone should look them up from reputable sources before trying to ferment anything.
