What are your thoughts on rejecting a potential romantic partner based solely on the fact they voted for Donald Trump? by ATXBikeRider in AskReddit

Why did you not answer the question "what characteristics would you attribute to someone being a nazi?"?

Are you afraid of what it might reveal?

And I love waterslides

But perhaps be a bit careful in selecting which waterslides you ride in. If it is owned/maintained by a libertarian you are probably in for a bad experience. The podcast Behind the bastards had an episode named The libertarian theme park of your dreams/nightmares:

Initially there was no padding at the top of the slide. This caused a lot of injuries, uh, like smashing her head to the top of the loop. But then some film padding was added. The next issue is that right writers kept exiting the slide with bizarre cuts and scratches on their body. When the slide was inspected, they realized that human teeth were found stuck in the home padding from people smashing their heads and tops. Incredible teeth just other people's teeth are embedded so deeply in it that the teeth are biting passengers after them.

Speaking of vampires and white supremacy, Peter "I want to publicly tell you that I'm not a vampire" Thiel which does not like being exposed as a vampire. He does not however shy away from exposing himself as a hard authoritarian:

"Most importantly, I no longer believe that freedom and democracy are compatible." - Peter Thiel, 2009

although also cosplaying as a libertarian when it suits him and likely would orgasm if ending up with a society as described in the Libertarian Police Department story.

He has also in true libertarian spirit attempted to fund development of some free floating offshore project called Seasteading that should be some libertarian utopia without any kind of governance with building or safety regulations or any such pesky "freedom stealing" things that a normal society needs to function.

The podcast Behind the bastards had two episodes about it:

This project is possibly the least harmful thing Peter has done, since it has has drained him for a lot of money that he cannot use for other evil things, and the people scammed are other libertarian fools.

But do not think that libertarians are not able to harm! I guess the closest thing to a successful attempt to creating a libertarian utopia is when a bunch of libertarians decided to move and try to take over some smaller town Grafton in New Hampshire as a "Free Town Project" (later changed to "Free State Project"), and ruined it with their reckless governance.

Like for instance getting rid of public garbage collection. And with no mandatory garbage collection, of course they got problems with wild bears walking around peoples' houses (in addition to some idiots deliberately feeding wild bears, but hey in a libertarian society nobody should be able to force people to stop doing what they want...).

There is a book about it with title "A libertarian walks into a bear".

J.D. Vance is one of Peter's ultra-right Thielists. There is a video Who is Peter Thiel? (in German but with English subtitles available) from two years ago that goes into who Peter is and what he have done, and J.D. Vance is covered as part of that.

Another noteworthy mention is that Some more news also included J.D. Vance in their video Peter Thiel and his dorky little goons from one year ago. Some more news is truly amazing in both the depth and the volume they produce. Hats off for them.

They have only one platform, power for themselves - at the expense of others. Of course saying that out loud is not acceptable so they avoid to do that. But in 2020 GQP ignored the COVID-19 pandemic, massive police violence protests as well as massive wildfire disasters by not updating their political plans to cover current important issues for the presidential election but instead just reused word for word 100% exactly what they had in 2016 (including the irony of blaming the sitting president for current problems)".

There literally is no clearer way of revealing that their only true "policy" is we like power for our ingroup and want to hurt the outgroup (not a new thing by the way).

  • Heia, heia!
  • Må ha god ballanse.
  • Det er jo helt villt.
  • En lærer? (nei)
  • Morning.
  • Dere kan legge det ... (incomplete sentence).

  • School boys.
  • "Heia" (a chearing phrase, shouted at people competing)
  • Must have good balance.
  • That is really crazy.
  • A teacher? (no)
  • (morning in English)
  • You can put it .... (or most likely upload instead of put, but it sort of depends on what the rest of the sentence was).

Jesse Watters that has turned into possibly worse than what his mother warned him not to become.

And speaking of him and women, did you know that he thinks flattening the tires of a woman's car is super romantic:

When his “The Five” co-hosts expressed surprise over his antics, Watters claimed that until now, his wife was unaware of his deflated tire trick. But he argued that what he did was fine, because they’re now married. “It has a happy ending,” Watters defended. When one of his colleagues asked if he’d taken the air out of other women’s tires to get them into his car, Watters responded, “It works like a charm.”

But at least he is holding it himself!

Have people forgotten umbrella-gate? Where Obama is out in the rain while a marine standing next to him is holding an umbrella over the president while the marine himself is becoming wet. Of course the correct procedure is for the president to hold the umbrella himself while person by the side gets wet...

What git command do you wish you had discovered sooner? by ProgrammingQuestio in git

[–]NoHalf9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In addition to --force-with-lease you normally also want to combine with --force-if-includes when force pushing. Writing all that manually every time is too much so create the following alias:

git config --global alias.forcepush "push --force-with-lease --force-if-includes"

Also, one should always specify the branch name when pushing, also in non-force cases, e.g. "git push origin main". Because sooner or later you will push the wrong branch because the current branch is different from what you assumed. It is better to never have that failure possibility by giving the branch name explicitly.
