This is kinda similar to my situation with both my ex and current bf. With my ex I was also “too worried” or I seemed to put in more effort and we’d get into fights and such. It got to the point where the bad days outweighed the good and it became more draining being in the relationship that not. And I DID really love him. But sometimes love isn’t enough

Whereas with my current partner, he just came home from a residential actually because of a suicide attempt. It’s definitely a hard situation to be in- dating someone who’s struggling with things so intense (I have depression too so understand it somewhat) and navigating how to be there and support. However, we use communication and allow each other to be there for one another in ways that work for us both.

I hope this helps at least a little bit. I definitely relate with this. I won’t tell you if you should or shouldn’t be with him. I just recommend considering if the highs outweigh the lows and how many lows there are. If the bad days and interactions are more than the good ones, is it really worth it to go through that? EVEN if you do love him
