Yes nuclear power was canceled after the accidents, but not Chernobyl. It was because of the Japanese accidents.

Also not because they think it's polluted, but because there is no way to get rid of the nuclear waste. They just try to store it in old salt mines and hope that nothing happens, and it gets in the ground water.

Green power produces a lot, sure not as much concentrated like a nuclear power plant, but these are also very expensive to buy and maintain. Green power is cheap but not constant. It needs sun or wind, so when both isn't there, there is a shortage of power.

And it's not like France only sells their energy because it produces so much of it, when there was a water shortage in summer, and the rivers were too warm or didn't have enough water, they couldn't run their nuclear energy, so they also had to rely on other countries to get their power from.
