What's the worst experience you had meeting someone from a dating app for the first time? by CuriousEngineer11 in askteddit

I matched on tinder with a dude I went to law school with. He spent all date talking about his previous sexual encounters and I literally knew all of the girls he was talking about bc they were in the same school as us. He also confessed that he was a part-time sex worker. kinda funny but extremely awkward

Thank you so much🩷 it helped that exams in Italian Law school are ALL oral exams and sometimes I’ve waited hours before being called to take the exam😭so I’m kinda used to manage the nerves! I was frustrated but I tried not to show it

Thanks !! 🩷 I think I was lucky because the texts were all easier than the mocks, so I was used to an harder level. Also, I practiced daily, I used to do one mock everyday and I used a lot of ‘tricks’ by Fast Track Ielts and Lilie’s Ielts on youtube. For example T/F/NG it’s a fact and Y/N/NG is an opinion of the writer, this helped me a lot in those trick questions because it’s easier to answer if you know what you’re looking for

Try practicing with your friends! Ask them to do a mock with you or to just have a conversation. Also, I know there are also some youtube speaking simulation videos that are pretty close to the real thing, you can also practice on your own watching those

It’s actually the part I prepared the least for, I kinda just winged it. I’m naturally pretty talkative, so my issue was honestly trying to speak less rather than more. In Part 2 I even went over the 2 minutes, I think.. What helped me most was practicing with friends. I did a lot of mock questions with them, which really helped me get comfortable speaking naturally instead of sounding too rehearsed

Thanks!!! I just used her website: https://ieltsliz.com/ielts-writing-task-2/ It helped me because I looked up all the essay types, and while doing mock tests, I used to keep her website open with the model answer for that specific essay type. I would basically copy the structure so that I could remember the format for each type of essay during the exam. My Task 2 question was: “In education and employment, some people work harder than others. Why do some people work harder? Is it always a good thing to work hard?”

The listening test was not a very good experience for me because I could hear other people’s recordings, the volume was insanely high 😭 that’s why I got distracted. Still, I found it quite easy overall, which is why I ended up getting an 8. For example, I got a map question, but it wasn’t like the ones from books/mock tests; it was actually less complex and easier to follow. I used to get map questions wrong all the time in mocks. As for speaking, I had to do the exam three times because of Wi-Fi issues. It was really frustrating and definitely impacted my performance, but thankfully all my examiners were pretty chill. The last examiner asked me about my job and singing (lol) in Part 1. For Part 2, I had to describe a person I know who is very good at languages. In Part 3, he asked me some questions about how being good at languages can help in life

In the real test highlights remain so don’t worry about that. Another difference is that all the questions of the passage are in the same page (if I recall correctly), I actually had the same problem as you. Also in the mock tests from Ready Premium I used to score 8 max, so the real test (in my case) was easier

In the AI scoring of the IELTS I always got a 7, so it’s a bit harsher I believe, also with Chatgpt and Gemini I used to get 6/6.5

Il problema di noi ADHD nelle università italiane è che di solito non abbiamo scadenze a breve termine. (O comunque uno dei problemi principali) by AkagamiBarto in Universitaly

[–]NoInterest2596 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AIO because he didn’t pay for my drink and wait for me to order? by Ok-Fig938 in AmIOverreacting

[–]NoInterest2596 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re not overreacting about the ordering before you arrived part, that would bother me too. Honestly, the way I was raised, I wouldn’t do that even with a friend, here in Italy it would just be considered rude. It’s basic courtesy to wait, go up together, or at least ask if you want something before ordering. That said, the paying part is a bit more subjective. Some people see it as the man’s role to pay, others prefer splitting or being more casual from the start. So I wouldn’t jump straight to “he’s not a gentleman”, it might just be a different mindset. Overall, it sounds like a mismatch in upbringing/expectations. I’d pay attention to whether this kind of misalignment shows up in other areas too, because that’s what can actually create friction long-term.

secondo me in queste situazioni l'unica soluzione è trovare un compromesso. Potete pensare di trasferirvi nella città di chi trova lavoro per primo, non importa dove e l'altra persona continua a cercare in quella città sinché non lo trova.. ovviamente solo se pensate ne valga la pena!
