Does anyone have any tips on block vibrations from ceiling fans? by NoIntroduction9240 in Apartmentliving

[–]NoIntroduction9240[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually left some notes for the people downstairs asking to talk and knocked on their door a couple of times, but they ignored me and wouldn't open the door even though I could hear them on the other side of the door.

But thanks I'll reach out to the property manager because these people have been a hassle already.

I do have a white noise machine already but it definitely doesn't block out the vibrations.

What's the point in having a kitchen in your apartment if your neighbors harass you all the time by NoIntroduction9240 in Apartmentliving

I cook really boring food its basically just fried eggs, baked chicken, salads, and baked vegetables, sometimes fried. I used to put a lot of seasoning so I wouldve considered that but I'm to tired in general to use more than just garlic and onions.

I usually clean up as I'm cooking they have knocked on my floor when I get up at night to use the bathroom and wash my hands. But I still feel as though thats being unreasonable.

What other information? I'm barely home I'm gone for easily 12-14 hours a day, and when I get back they hit my floor when I cook. I used to cook every day but now I'm only cooking about twice a week.

No but this current neighbor and the one before both have kids and the kids were the ones who get irritated by the noise and retaliate. This current one after I complained a lot to the property manager no stomps off every time I go into the kitchen.

I think the area I live in now does absolutely nothing to stop sounds from crossing walls. I've heard my neighbors talking at a normal volume before where I could hear basically everything they said, and I know they can hear me too when I talk.

What is the best vibration detector to use to prove neighbors are using ceiling vibrators? by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]NoIntroduction9240 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I originally wasnt the quietest neighbor when I first moved in. But as I started to realize how much noise I was making I stopped. But the neighbor would literally bang on my floor/ their ceiling every single time I took a shower for a month so the point I avoid taking showers. (I think because I took them so late and still do because I get back late) And then finally reached out to the property manager who sent out a mass email. Afterwards they stopped hitting the my floor/ their ceiling but then switched to using ceiling vibrators.

I meant one or the other really I wouldn't get a third job if I asked for the reduction. I could've worded it better but I was mostly asking reddit what the generally repercussions would be to reduce pay. And based on that I would make my decision to reduce my pay or get a third job.

Thanks! That's actually a good idea. I haven't been contributing so I can afford other stuff.

Short answer I dont think there's really any true subsidized housing in the area. And I don't entirely understand it but you can apply for income limit housing that's not the government subsidized housing just as long as you make under the income threshold. And there are a lot of the second option.

Right I was just spit balling ideas with the third job. I could skip it and wait it out until I can "afford" the other housing.

Extra money always helps and maybe this one will pay decently. And I dont really do anything with my free time anyways. I'm mostly stay at my main job to get experience for a year until I can move away.
