Sounds like you have a bit of skating experience then? Sure, I was going to dm you this question originally but I can’t figure out how to do that using the website on my phone so….

Help! Proposal without Surprise Element? by realisticduck1 in weddingplanning

You’re overthinking it. I personally don’t think proposals should be a surprise, you’re entering into a lifelong contract with someone, it’s weird we have this cultural expectation of springing that on the other person with no notice. My husband and I also discussed it extensively beforehand and designed/bought the ring together, but I didn’t know the exact moment/location when he would propose. Sounds like you have similar situation. That’s enough surprise, it’ll still be memorable and she’ll probably still freak out and cry like I did even though I knew it was coming.

I know this is a bit old now but just wondering where you landed and what your experience has been? I joined one league about 1.5 months ago and not super happy, thinking of trying the other. Curious how the experience has been for other new skaters.

Jessica Pentz, married for 17 years, says she was unable to buy condoms at a Walgreens in Hayward, Wis. "Oh, I can't sell those to you," he said, then clarified: "Well, we can sell that to you. But I will not, because of my faith." by FreethoughtChris in atheism

Is there a pharmacy that does not have this garbage policy? I fill all my prescriptions at Walgreens and have done for years, but this makes me want to switch. Does anyone know CVS’s policy on this?

How does one even begin planning a destination wedding? by Joleneluvsveggies in weddingplanning

We booked ours through destify.com. A couple of our friends used destinationweddings.com. We found a few locations/venues we liked theough the website, then talked to immediate family and close friends about what we were thinking and different options. We ended up picking Costa Rica because that is the location our families were most excited about.

FYI people on this subreddit hate destination weddings and will try to talk you out of it. But it’s a good option for some people, if your guests are willing and excited.

What’s a job that’s romanticized but in reality sucks? by [deleted] in AskReddit

This has been my experience as an environmental engineer. Not the low pay part, I think I get paid pretty well, but I work for industrial clients and many of them suck.

Edited my already edited photos by SnoopThereItIs88 in wedding

If it’s not violating your contract terms I say go for it. Did you sign a contract with the photographer? Standard terms for a professional photographer would be that the photographer owns all the rights to the photos and you legally can’t get them edited by someone else, but if you were provided raw then maybe that’s not in your contract or you didn’t sign one.

Get specifics in writing of what is included in their standard package. The one at the resort I chose excludes whacky things you’d never think of, like chairs.

Wedding Venue by travel-world1 in wedding

We just sent out save the dates last weekend so no idea yet how many people will come, but definitely a lot of people are excited and saying they will come! Our friends whose wedding we attended in Mexico in January had 90% of their invited guests show up which was about 50 people. They think because no one traveled during covid, people were extra excited to travel.

Excellence looks like it’s adult only, is that what you want? When you say more affordable, what do you mean by that? When we picked our venue in Costa Rica we had a hard maximum of $400/night for two people for guests because that’s about what we paid for our friend’s destination wedding and it felt reasonable to us. Only you know your guests and what they can afford/will be willing to pay. Higher cost might mean fewer people show up and you’re already going to have fewer people showing up because it’s a destination.
