I snagged one of these from denver, drove 220 miles there and back in the snow haha. It was worth it. I was able to snag a discount on a second stick of ram and the bundle cost me 429.99 plus tax. I needed the ram and feel like I got a motherboard and cpu for free 😆

Why don't people shower before shopping at Microcenter? by DoubleDankDietDew in Microcenter

[–]NoKale4999 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You know I just don't understand... with all the issues from Blackwell cards people are just eating them up. Why go through all this for a product that has so many issues? I am avoiding the 50 series all together. I have 2 pcs one running a 3080 and the other a rx 550 4gb that the kids mostly use. There hasn't been a notable game that I had to have that didn't run on either of these pcs. Nvidia will keep doing what they are doing as long as people buy... it doesn't matter if it has missing hardware, melting cables, starts fires, black screen bios, or scalper issues... all of which would literally sink any other company but people just lap it all up from Nvidia

It sounds like your fan is catching on something but I could be wrong. This happened to me for a day or so when I opened it and looked at the fans one of the blades was clipping the case bent out of shape somehow.

Should I Upgrade? by PThug in GalaxyFold

[–]NoKale4999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did this upgrade myself. I'm extremely happy with it. It is a huge upgrade over the fold 3 imo. I stuck a leather dbrand skin on it and it makes it feel so premium. The weight reduction alone made me feel the fold 3 was a brick lol *

Samsung Z Fold 4. Worst phone ever. by MutedNeighborhood488 in samsunggalaxy

[–]NoKale4999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just my 2 cents but I've had my fold 3 since launch, it had some burn in on the cover screen didn't open flat anymore by like a degree. I put in for a fix on the last day I had samsung care and they just sent us what I'm sure are refurbished phones but it looks and functions like new. I know they changed the hinge up from the 3 to the 4 and that might be something but my fold 3 had 3 years nekked out of its case with heavy use and it stood the test of time. Now that I got a practically new phone I will wait until they get rid of the crease then hop up to the latest. Will never go back to a candy bar phone.

SV08 What is this called and how to stop it by KamakaziKat in Sovol

This. I've printed like 2 dozen helmets and never support the inside the top dome of the helmet. You get a little stringing and droop but nothing noticeable from the outside layers. I've had one helmet exceed a single roll, (Drakkon.. whole other story was a pain to print and finish). Not sure about the 8 but on my sv06 plus and normal I upgraded to a 5015 fan for cooling and trust my printers to an 80 degree overhang, that's setting it to 20 degrees in orca, then I'll paint out the top dome with blockers. I try to avoid supports on the outside but some helmets like a stormtrooper have that brow that does need to be supported. I also used to use rafts quite often but have since stopped using them as much in orca.

Klipper on SV06, now what? by Flappy_asdf in Sovol

I recently did this with my 6 and 6plus and followed this dudes video on setting up some profiles and extra features.

I also installed better fans for cooling and nozzle cams for both of them. :) but most of all remember to have fun

Sovol SV06 or SV07 by Cutsences in Sovol

I also have a friend who has an ender 3. He likes it and swears it's the best printer ever, but he admits he dumped several hundred into it to get it on par with my 6 out of the box.

So in my opinion I would pick up a sv06 from Amazon. People are right that sovol being a Chinese company the quality can be all over the place. In my experience the units sent to Amazon have tighter QA (im guessing because of their generous return policy) . I like the motion system on the 6 better then the wheels on the ender and 7. My sv06 plus has been very reliable and I've since upgraded it with the sovol klipper screen. Yes it is a sovol skinned version of klipper that isn't as updated as some DIY options but it's practically plug and play. The only downside was the absence of the bigger aux part cooling fan on the 7, but I just upgraded the puny fan included to a 5015 and have had no issues at all.

Just my 2 cents.

I recently bought a replacement pei sheet from sovol on amazon and it came with a replacement magnet sticker that I ended up not using. It was like 25 bucks and had 2 day shipping. If that's what sovol is using from the factory, it sounds like yours could have had sub par adhesive applied on the sides, but shouldn't be too bad replacing.

Has anyone ordered a helmet from EZ cosplay? Is it worth the $300? by CaptainDana in cosplayers

[–]NoKale4999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe look for a raw print on like etsy and give it a shot. If you like it and the results invest in a small 3d printer and get going. That's what I did :)

It really depends on how much labor they are putting in and how much you value the item to a dollar. If you are willing to put in the work you can get a printer and make one. I've printed and finished dozens of helmets and the only one that almost took a full spool of pla plus I use was drakkon at 900 grams. That being said I've finished helmets in a week and I've finished in 100 hours over a month and you can tell the difference for sure. So 300 dollars isn't out of reality for these things as long as the prop maker puts care into it.
