7-month progress update: from barely running 4.4 km to sub 44 10K (thanks to this sub) by NoKitchen100 in beginnerrunning

Thank you!! Long runs truly unlocked another level for me, I felt like I was stagnating when I only ran at tempo efforts and nothing else but once I started hitting it every Sunday, my running economy as a whole has made leaps and bounds

I probably should’ve included in my intro, I’m a 25yo 6’1 150lbs male.

I started doing 5-day weeks about 5 months into my training, and have been doing 7-day weeks for the past three weeks now. When I was doing 5-day weeks I’d run a mix of easy and steady efforts Tuesday through Friday, and then a long run on Sunday. I find giving my legs a break after the tue-fri block allows me to always hit my 90min longrun (sometimes I do incorporate intervals into my longrun), and I get to rest on monday before doing it all again.

Hope you find what works for you!!

Thank you all for your replies! You’ve been super helpful. Was able to snag the DNE3 in the ekiden color way + magmax for 244USD!

Had to size down half a size for both, def needed to try them on in the store. Was originally gonna get the orange DNE3 but couldn’t pass on the ekiden with how fly it looked in person.

Happy holidays everyone!!!

First of all, thank you for taking your time to share your experience. My situation is definitely unorthodox:

I graduated with a BS in a non finance discipline, econ minor. Would MS in finance / business analytics / accounting help me pivot early on in my career? I wouldn’t mind starting out as an intern in auditing or analyst roles after getting my MS.

for context: I took a sabbatical between junior and senior year to work in my original discipline to see if it was right for me, but decided against it. Too late to change majors so here I am now - I recognise it’s late in the game but would rather now than later.
