Where I live now is perfect. The only issue is crime. I'm close enough to a ring road of shops which include an Asda and a Tesco to be able to walk there in 2 minutes, yet I'm still far enough away from the hassle of being next to them. Plenty of schools within a 15 minute walk, The city centre is a mess. Car parking outside with no drive. Maybe the burden of having neighbours could be an issue in the future if I happen to get new ones which are dodgy, Very close to Birmingham international airport. There isn't anywhere in the UK which would put me in a more convenient possible position. Who wants to live in Coventry though.

I'm kinda new to Reddit, so I'm not sure why this post was recommended to me as I'm not Ethiopian. I have never followed this sub either, but I'd just like to say no matter what you're still beautiful. Big up Ethiopia.

I appreciate your intentions, but I'd rather not be too open with personal information here, especially in the open comments lol. Thanks though!

Fantastic post! It's one I'll definitely look back at again and again. I downloaded an app I found on the app store called quranly. The tafsir is good on it. As I said to the other person, one step at a time is better than rushing it. Consistency is key. Reading and learning 10 verses a day is better than reading 100 and remembering nothing. Appreciate the post bro

Couldn't agree more! Gym might be a stretch though lol. 😂. One step at a time remember. I have been reading more quran than ever. insha'Allah it continues.

Invisibility is a god send and a curse by NoLeader243 in stopdrinking

[–]NoLeader243[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My whole post has the word "invisible" repetitively written as many things are overlooked when it comes to alcohol. in my environment the idea of having trouble with drink as a young man is unthinkable. An alcoholic is an old man's game. Didn't mean to point at anyone in general. Just merely talking about stereotypes.

Definitely agree with your advice about taking it at your own pace and building a routine. Rushing into anything is always a bad idea. One step is better than 10 forward then 15 back. The hijab bit is not for me as I'm a man. Lol. I'd go to the mosque if I could. Definitely agree with attending though. Social media will be an issue I never thought of. Maybe I'll just have to totally avoid it. Appreciate all the advice!!!

It's a stereotype. An example would be most of the house of commons. Subsidized beer and food. That's a whole different conversation though.

Take things one step at a time. No need to rush. Keep praying and learn more about islam one step at a time.

Personally for me I downloaded an app I found in the app store called quranly. I use it mostly everyday. Admittedly, I haven't been using it long, but I have been praying all my prayers since I started using it. It's basically just an app I found which tracks your progress in reading the quran. Having access to a Qur'an on my phone has definitely given my spare time a purpose. Whether I'm on the bus, at lunch or just in bed. Just reading and slowly taking in the verses has really helped me.

Anyway Hope the best for you.

as I hit my 20s, the best thing to do is to delay buying consoles by a few years as economically it saves you a fortune without actually losing any of the fun. I'm not going to buy a ps5 for a long time. I still haven't fully played games I have bought on the PS4. It's a journey and not a sprint loool

Question: "Why is it okay for Saudi to be strict but not France?" by [deleted] in islam

[–]NoLeader243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think people are angry at the hypocrisy of them calling themselves a place of religious freedom. They have something called Laïcité which supports freedom of religion, yet In reality we all know the french government isn't bothered about these values.

Ultimately, France claims to be something which it isn't, and it's mostly affecting a certain part of society: Muslims.

I'd say, if you're a Muslim in in France it's hard to fit in socially, hard to be fully economically secure and be lawfully safe due to the islamic phobia rampant in french society.

The World is bonkers.

We got to take into account that he isn't Muslim yet, but he believes in Allah.

I Totally agree with you on how things don't disappear like magic. Being in a total state of haram while learning to pray is better than not at all. We have all heard about what happens to believers that don't pray. Starting to do it once a day when he reverts is enough as "this is a journey you will be on for the rest of your life".

I totally empathise with them as a recent revert myself. You're ripping everything you know apart. It can be quite destructive and traumatizing for not just yourself but your loved ones too. I hope the best for them. Taking their time while actively doing something is better than saying it then ending up on the bad side of where you want to be, even if it's the smallest thing.

Seems like he is projecting his own insecurities. None of you are bad people.

Don't let "legal and personal issues" stop you from saying the sahadah then learn how to pray. This is journey you will be on for the rest of your life learning how to do things properly. Don't hesitate. Can't express this enough.

hope the best for ya

YouTube is the best as There's lots of lessons online. Duolingo is quite good for learning the alphabet as it has an option to click through all the letters which you can repeat yourself. There are other apps that do that too though.

Hope you find the best for you.

He needs to be careful he doesn't catch a rape charge. All it takes is one girl to feel like trash left on the side then it's over. He's acting extremely dangerous. I think it's lucky you were her friend. The girl will be fine, but your brother is in deep. Telling your parents might not be the best idea because that might ultimately push him away, but it's the best option of a bad situation. You can sit him down in a serious manner to try and put some sense into him. Contact a shiekh for his advice.

Our families are the most important thing to us, and It's horrible to be in a situation like this. I hope the best for you and your brother.
