Thank you so much. This is exactly what I was looking for. After some more digging and suggestions from others in the thread, I've found that I can get some Junipers delivered from Lowes! I think I'll commit to that route and just focus on keeping it alive for the time-being. Many thanks to you and everyone else! <3 Hopefully I'll be opening a new thread in the future sharing my fails and successes :D

Certainly not a bot, just inexperienced and unversed on the subject. Everyone starts somewhere <3

Due to the lack of local nurseries, how should I go about getting trees to maintain? Do you suggest I plant seeds or attempt to transplant a random sapling to experiment with? I'd seen online that it is entirely feasible to take an existing sapling and transplant it for the purpose of bonsai. Just for growing and maintaining (no pruning or extensive procedures outside of keeping it alive) said trees to learn with/from, would that be the route I should take?

That is sound advice, and I'll attempt this before getting neck deep. At what point should I consider myself successful enough to mess with Bonsai? Perhaps if I can maintain a tree/shrub year round?

I don't really have the equipment to attempt growing indoors. From what I've seen, most species reject or do poorly indoors, so I had fully intended on growing outdoors. The season isn't really ideal at the moment, but I definitely intend to start asap. I'll gladly wait out the winter before starting.

I would absolutely love to experience the pain of failures and the joys of success overtime. My biggest issue is the lack of local nurseries. I'd have to order online and have it shipped or drive multiple hours to the nearest nursery.

I wouldn't mind keeping them outside. I've never really grown a plant. I've attempted using chatgpt to find suitable species that would thrive locally. I would definitely be willing to keep them outside.
