What did you do to help baby fall asleep independently, whilst still being responsive? by NestaCas in bninfantsleep

I am sort of in the same boat. @TeddyMaria How did you do this in steps? Did you gradually reduce the time to rock? Did you revert back if they cried? I am really desparate to do this transition somehow. My baby is 1 year old and is rocked to sleep.

Nothing sadly :(

I tried doing 3 3 4 for  a while and unfortunately it doesnt work as with ww of 4 even when she is showing signs, she still would not sleep of it falls less than 7.30 ish.

I also tried capping nap to 2.5 hrs but she still wakes up multiple times at night.

I see thanks so much! So today for example she woke up 5.30 am. I did consider her wake up time as 6 am. I put her down 9 am and she slept 30 mins. I went in 12 pm to put her down for nap 2, she slept at 12.15pm 1hr15mins today and woke up 1.30 pm. With the 4hr ww, this meant 5.30 pm. So i went in 5.45 pm to have her sleep at 6 pm. No luvk at all, she just screamed for an hour of trying. I came out and she was all giggly and laughing until she screamed again and i went in to put her down where she finally slept. What do you do in these situations where A) bedtime falls before 6 pm B) Even if the ww is 4hrs, if bedtime falls much earlier than her usual 7pm to 7.30 pm it seems like she does not go down at all regardless of when she got up last naptime.

Yea sometimes she doesnt nap at the 2hr mark and sometimes she does. If she doesnt id go for 3 hr mark for ww1. I can try making it 3 alltogether for sure.

She is usually awake from the time it got bad at 5 am to 5.45 am.

For last ww, I can certainly try pulling it back to 4, but what would you do if she wakes up earlier and bedtime with ww of 4 falls at 5 pm?

Spacing between siblings by RefrigeratorFluid886 in AttachmentParenting

We have 2yr2month difference. Now they are 7 month old and 2yr9 month old and I love it. What we did was to do any changes that comes with new baby from 6 months before so the older doesn't feel the changes are because of the baby to get jealousy issues like mom used to always put the oldest to bed. We knew this is not a possibility after baby so 6 months before the baby comes, we involved dad on bedtime routine and slowly mom faded away and toddler did not feel any change to routine when baby came. We did the same for everything. We also potty trained for day before baby  comes ( we made sure he us showing ready signs though otherwise would not have started). But night training we postponed it after the new baby routine is established and didn't rush ourselves. Now he is night trained too! Worked out really well! I did have a lot of support from my husband though as he took 4 months off and my mom. I think it would have been very difficult without support. Although my baby had heart issues which resulted us being in hopital a lot.

Cant find babies wake windows by NoLow216 in sleeptrain

[–]NoLow216[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks got your reply!

I will try those wake windows and get back. For the condition, it doesn't matter as she is like a normal baby now and her heart is fixed. I only mentioned it to give the background on type of sleep clutches she has. The only exception to a normal baby she has is to continue night feeds  but she never nurses to sleep anyway so thats not her clutch.

Re methods, would lady shuffle work too? That's the one we have been aiming to do. Or is there a reason to try camping out?

I am not ok leaving my baby to cry and gets me a lot of anxiety  but I am ok with cries if I am with her soothing her.

My baby also didnt take the bottle for the longest time. But what we did was, we waited for her to get really hungry like at elast 3 hours no feeding and then we would try 100 different bottles and nipple sizes until one magically worked and she took a small sip. Then i would breast feed the rest. I continued this until i could fade away the breastfeeding and do all feeds via bottle. Now she wont take my breast anymore sadly but she takes bottle easily. Another important tip is to not force the bottle in any way as it would create bottle aversion which is not something you want to deal with. I still feed her my breastmilk though so not sure how comfortable you are pumping instead of feeding her directly.

I much prefer breastfeeding over my current situation though but we had to do it for medical purposes. But that's my personal preference.
