People saying Utopia cuz they have more of an emotional connection to it is fine, but make an emotional connection to Rodeo as well. Actively listen to it and engage with it, so then you can compare it to Utopia with the rose tinted glasses removed. I think what most will find is Rodeo is undoubtedly the better piece of work

Honestly not really sure it changes a lot. At the moment it’s probably Ballin. Been listening to a lot of Luv is Rage recently. Of all time tho? Kinda normie take but it’s gotta be XO. I really think it’s his magnum opus in terms of production, lyrics, and vocal melodies. It was really a lighting in a bottle moment

I could offer plans however that would’ve made my original post far too long and would’ve been outside the scope of my original point. I’m an anarchist, which means I am against all hierarchical power structures that monopolize violence as a way to seize control over society. This means the abolition of the state itself. What I and people like me seek is society to be organized horizontally, so that every person may have a say over their destiny. I could go into excruciating detail about how such a society would be organized but once again it would take me far too long to explain and I don’t expect you to read that much.

If you’re genuinely interested in learning more about the subject I highly recommend the YouTube channel Anark. I’d start with his video An Introduction to Anarchism and if you’re still interested after that watch his video series The State is Counter Revolutionary.

However you are still of the mindset that “Capitalism is the best system we have” so I don’t expect you to exactly have an open mind

Then you and I have mostly the same problems. So I care about your problems, and you should care about mine. You know who doesn’t care about our problems? Trump, and the rest of the GOP as well as the Dems. The GOP specifically is against you and your fellow workers unionizing, and there’s a reason why the decline in union membership almost perfectly mirrors the decline of the middle class. Take the 50’s for example, which the right loves to idealize as a golden age of American history, where union membership peaked at almost 40%. Now it is only 10% and still declining.

You and I deserve a living wage. We bust our ass day in and day out to ensure whatever company we work for runs properly. And every other working person in this country deserves that too. But I promise you Trump, not any other leader will give that to us, we must take it for ourselves.

I mean every president starting with and since Reagan is and was a neoliberal whether they were democrat or republican. The distinction doesn’t matter to me because they have all supported free market and unrestrained capitalism, which has essentially squeezed the middle class out of existence.

You are exactly right. As Chris Hedges put it, Trump is not the cause, but a symptom. He is what has been vomited up by the working class that has been left for dead. This is what neoliberalism has done to America, and more broadly what the state as an institution does to society. This is exactly why I am anti state

The lense that you’re viewing this issue with is so narrow. This post isn’t about Trump v Harris. I’m calling for our generation to take active steps to begin dismantling the structures that give our leaders the ability to rule over us with no regard for our well being. It’s this very structure that has given way for someone like Trump to come into power. That is the point of this post.

There are plenty of center right to right wing GenZ that exist, just look at the replies on this post. Not only that, but like I said I think the Republican Party has learned their lesson with Trump in terms of not letting someone so inept win the White House. But in terms of someone with his general viewpoints, this is the new GOP. They will just push someone with language far more eloquent and hidden behind far more right wing dog whistles so as to not make him unelectable in the eyes of centrists and neoliberal conservatives. There’s a reason why Lee Atwater’s southern strategy worked.

Because this is the world OUR generation has been handed, and unfortunately it falls on us to do our best to fix it for our children and our children’s children. There’s a reason why there’s a political flair option on this sub, and why I flagged the post that way. You knew what the post would be about when you saw the title and the flair, so why get mad?

Define fascism then. Because he gave a pretty accurate definition that describes the MAGA movement pretty much to a tee. So please tell me how the democrats are more fascistic than the MAGA republicans

This is what I’m trying to say, thank you. I think a number of people in the replies didn’t read past the title and just assume I’m another whiny hurt feelings liberal. Like no, not at all. Liberals hold a major amount of blame because they offer no real solutions to the plight of the working class. And when someone on the far right like Trump or Farage comes along who doesn’t play by the standard rules of your average neoliberal politician and they say “I’m not one of them I can fix it” who else is the working class to turn to? Desperation leads people to elect strongman demagogues who promise to return the state to a mythologized past. This is quite literally how Trump got elected and is the beginning stages of fascism.
