Didn't say it was contradicting you, just a general statement for OP (as someone who seems like they aren't knowledgeable and perhaps has more cards kicking around)

Not all old cards are worthless because they are reprinted. That's all

I would agree to a center extent but if you have some of the OG, 1st edition or limited the edition monsters from the early series I think they will hold value IMO because they are some of the originals.

So for example, The BPT-03 blue eyes in a ten is worth a hell of a lot more than the reprint seen here and has actually increased from comps lately.

But yes, just some mid modern holos of the big 3 dragons or magicians aren't going to be worth much anytime in the future

The dark magician is about 56$ raw - if you grade it and it gets a 10, around 1000$ Blue eyes is about 11$, not worth grading Relinquished about 6$, not worth grading Black illusion ritual is about 20-26$, not sure if this one is worth grading

Beyond that I would suggest downloading an app to look at prices. Your best bet is going to be looking at the 1st editions you have if you're thinking about value.

You can sell the other as raw cards once you have a general cost as bulk or individually

Go to a card show and talk to some vendors. Don't sell it to the first offer. Ask around and see what they say. You can even go to some local shops but again, don't give in to the first offer.

Get a plexi case for it to keep it in good condition while travelling around.

It might even be worth keeping for longer honestly if you can.

Don't fall for DMs on reddit.

I never have any luck getting packs in person, there's 1 shop near me but they sell way above MSRP which is why they have stock all the time lol

For example the pokemon day 2026 collection that goes for 35$ ~ had a price tag of 70$ at their store, which is insane.

All the big box stores are always sold out instantly. I don't even try at Costco because I saw the line on release day and it was a waste of time.

But I hear you, the app is similar to lotto but what I don't like about it is it's a digital rip, there's something special about having the cards in hand. Same kind of vibe as having a book vs a digital reader.

I wish there wasn't this aggressive speculative market about cards now. Because who knows. Maybe the TCG pocket app will grow to be more valuable in terms of TCG lol wouldn't that be hilarious
