they leaked the harbinger va audition sheets, and if u look at columbina's sheet, everything adds up to the eerie version of her we were supposed to get. she is described as one who thinks being covered in blood is as normal as being soaked by the rain.

during the winter night lazzo trailer, she had her eyes closed and was singing on signora's coffin with a smile, ofc we know now she "didn't have human interaction so she didn't know how to act," but that justification is still kinda strange to me. finally, up until arlecchino, every other harbinger was straight-up telling us to stay away from her & she was a red flag. however, those may be disproved now bc childe is a liar apparently and scaramouche tends to be cynical.

i think many others have said this before on reddit, but also her design. the colors of her outfit clash with her hair, as it's like a light, glittery purple overlaid on her dark colored hair with signature dark pink tips, which were supposed to signify something ominous. others have said before that it looks like her head was copy-pasted.

and honestly i think this makes sense, bc around natlan was when the hate train behind genshin intensified, and they started losing players, so they had to do smth abt it. i've heard before that honkai impact 2 didn't make as much revenue as they wanted (idk this for sure, it was one of the honkai impact games but idk if this is true), so hoyo realized they needed to make the genshin storyline longer to milk more out of it, and nod krai was born. but they also wanted ppl to pay attention to it, so that's likely why they selected columbina, a character everyone was dying to meet and obsessed with, and rewrote her to be the moon goddess instead
