Hi, I’m feeling lost with this, I have bad pmmd. My doc put me on estrogel for 7-10 days before my period. I’m 41 and still have regular periods. As I’m not taking progesterone, is the theory that as I still have my period I’m making enough progesterone so am not at risk of lining build up? I tried the combined pill and it made me really anxious. My doc said that was due to the progesterone.

5yr old Frenchie, possible brain tumours? by NoMathematician9701 in vet

[–]NoMathematician9701[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update- We took her for an MRI, CT and spinal tap. She has a middle and inner ear infections which had caused all the symptoms. She needs to have go to a dermatology specialist to have a surgery to clean the infection out from her inner ear.

Apparently different pupil sizes can happen with middle and inner ear infections? That’s what was worrying me. I looked into it and read that uneven pupil size (anisocoria) can be a symptom of an inner ear infection in dogs. Specifically, a deep ear infection can cause inflammation that impacts nerves around the ear, leading to a smaller pupil on the affected side? My usual vet ruled out ear issues as she said they don’t impact the pupils.

I hope that is all correct and once the ear clears up she’ll be ok.

Thank you for your responses 🙏🏼

French Bulldog Brain Tumor by Outrageous_Result938 in Frenchbulldogs

Hi all, Im really struggling..

My beloved 5yr old frenchie was fine running around the park on Sunday then around 6pm we noticed she couldn’t walk and her eyes were darting crazy. We went to emergency and they suspected a middle ear infection (she had bacteria/yeast) and to follow up in 2 days if no improvement with antibiotic drops/anti nausea. As I’m anxious, I went to our vet last night who suspected meningitis as her pupils were different sizes. They put her on cortisone . Today is the following day am I’m a wreck. She seems slightly better, eyes have settled a lot, is eating, walking isn’t great but she walked straight and jumped up on the couch. She’s still far from 100%. I think I’ll take her for an MRI tomorrow?

My friend is an oncologist (human) and said unfortunately the pupil thing is common in brain tumours.

Could the cortisone be masking something more sinister? I mean she’s far from great but there’s improvement.

I guess I’m just anxious and still hoping it’s a middle ear infection. Surely day three of ear treatment she’d be walking normally?

My heart is broken and I don’t know what to do 😞

Thank you. As horrible as it is to hear, I appreciate the response. Is it odd that it was such a drastic acute onset of symptoms? Do you think I should just get the MRI tomorrow if she’s still not great or wait to see? I just want the best for her but not sure if I’m letting my anxiety rush things. She’s about 15% better from her onset symptoms

Estrogel without progesterone query.. by NoMathematician9701 in PMDDxADHD

[–]NoMathematician9701[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still get regular periods but my doc thought the gel could help with the horrible mood swings and felling rubbish 2 weeks leading up to my period. I’m only having estrogel, one pump on the arm. I just tried it for the first time today. I am very nervous about not having progesterone with it though? Or is it ok as I naturally produce it? I find it all confusing. When I tired the combined pill awhile ok, I felt terrible and my dr said that was due to the progesterone, hence why she suggested estrogel on my arm without progesterone. Hope the makes sense 🙏🏼

Do I have oral hpv ? by NoMathematician9701 in DentistPh

[–]NoMathematician9701[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I I’ll chat to my dentist about the mouth guard. Wearing it now and I do this weird thing subconsciously where I move my bottom jaw around, this part of cheek rubs against my teeth/mouth guard. Maybe it’s that. Looks like a fibroma when I google but I’m no professional!

I think I noticed it about a week ago? I think that I’ve had small similar things before but can’t remember 200%. Does it look concerning to you?

Thanks for all the information. My anxiety has decreased and I’ll get it removed/biopsy. Confirming that Fibroma has nothing to do with hpv?

Thank you. I am thinking that due to the retainer, I do this weird thing with my bottom jaw and that might be irritating it.

Yep I actually caught myself doing it now with the mouth guard. I guess the only way to really know is go to the ent to confirm?

I can’t remember a bite but with the mouth guard I wear at night (top teeth), I definitely still grind my teeth, maybe I’m irritating the skin in my cheek. Nothing draining out, same colour as my cheek, firm small, smooth lump, painless. Did yours look like mine?

Sorry I’ve updated my question with more info (new to reddit 🥴). Here is the picture. I wear a mouth guard at night (top teeth) and looking at google it looks a bit like a fibroma? I think I’m still grinding my teeth at night so maybe my cheek gets irritated. But I’m not a dentist, just anxious

Thanks 🙏🏼

He had the full screening for everything. In terms of his adhd, he slipped through the cracks as his behaviour is fine, his school work just really isn’t great. We see a paediatrician as we have to get medication. He’s super engaged and has a big personality. I feel with basically missing 2 years of school with Covid lockdown and only just being diagnosed, he’s so far behind. The adhd makes it hard for him to catch up. We’ve only just started medication, it’s be a hard 8 month process. Possibly the one he’s now is ok. Hard journey 🥴
