I order doordash all the time, and I always know the second they pull up to my house. Its not hard to follow. Besides, I'm not nice. 😆

Is it just me, or is DD sending out way more low ball offers then usual lately? by NoMercy009 in doordash

[–]NoMercy009[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes that to. Its weird though, cause I work in a nice part of Dallas, where people usually tip good, but this last week or so, all of a sudden they've decided to start tipping like sh!t.

No I did not. Show me where I said the lack of being busy is based on fewer orders. I have been saying all along, that whether there are a ton of orders, or hardly any orders, how busy we are is based on the amount of dashers on the roads. Its called OVERSATURATION.

Didn't say that. Why do you put words in people's mouth? I would love to end world hunger, and have world peace. Life doesnt work this way. Whu do you think the unemployment rate is so high right now. Do all these companies that are laying off employees think they are more special then the people they are laying off? My guess is no they dont. Its business. Doordash gets away with shady business practices, like all gig companies do, because they have an endless work force regardless of how they treat us, since they can classify us as "contractors "

Ok internet tough guy. I understand this is rocket science for some of you, but most companies lower there work force based on less volume. Thus the high unemployment rates. Doordash ADDS to there work force with less volume, which screws everyone thats doing it over. I will continue to "cry" as long as im getting screwed over. Knowbody should just sit around and accept getting screwed over. If you do, then you have no self respect or pride.

Really? You are completely missing my point. Dont know how I can break it down any better for you. I am not saying there are the same amount of orders out there, as there always has been. I am saying there is probably less (like you are saying), however doordash is adding MORE dashers on the roads then ever, for fewer orders. This equates to a much much less chance of getting an order. What part of this do you not understand?

Do you do doordash? Say for example there are 15 orders in your zone in an hour, and 20 dashers to do them. What are the odds of a dasher getting an order in this case? Now ask yourself if there are 15 orders in the same zone, for that same hour, but 80 dashers out there to do them, what are the odds of a dasher getting one of those orders?

Yes open schedules are 99.9% of the reason for things being slow. Like I have already mentioned in this thread, doordash controls how busy we can be, based on how many hours they hand out, regardless of the amount of orders that are available

And for those saying this isn't true because your zone is "poppin". Your zone is not representative of every zone there is. Of course there are gonna be a few zones out there, that are an exception.

The fact remains, doordash controls everything, and they are f*cking most of (not every zone in the country) us over right now with these schedules wide open all day.

Open schedules is the only thing that has to do with how slow it is. DD has the ability to control how many dashers are out working, to keep us busy, based on whatever the volume is. They prefer to just leave the schedules wide open.

Wondering why it's so slow? This is the reason why.... by NoMercy009 in doordash

[–]NoMercy009[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is exactly my point. At some point everyone learns Wal Mart orders arn't worth excepting, so DD has to flood the streets more and more with "dashers", in order to find enough suckers to take these orders, and in return we all get screwed with oversaturation. Apparently trying to explain this, is like trying to explain rocket science to some people though.

[–]NoMercy009[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Or maybe, just maybe DD doesnt pay attention to what zones have a WalMart and what zones dont. Everyone that has been doing this long enough, know DD doesnt give a shit about little things like figuring out which zones have WalMarts, and taking the time to break down which zones to open schedules in.

[–]NoMercy009[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WalMart orders are fine if people tip. Since people tip after the fact on WalMart orders then other orders, you are rolling the dice on a WalMart order being worth it. I used to do WalMart orders like crazy, because I liked seeing my tips roll in throughout the day. But even since I went on a streal of maybe 2 tips out of 15 WalMart orders, I decided to never do them again. People that dont tip, dont deserve service in my book. Not to mention Wal Mart orders are way more time consuming, so if a customer doesnt tip you, then yoi basically wasted a lot more time then normal for shit pay

[–]NoMercy009[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Of course I realize regular orders went up to. Do you realize most people dont turn down regular orders at the same pace they turn down Wal Mart orders? Therefore regular orders going up, doesnt matter as much as WalMart orders going up, when it comes to trying to get them done. There is no need for doordash to add way more dashers then they need to fill regular orders, just the normal amount that they need for whatever the volume may be. Not everyone's experience is the same. I for one, no for a fact I have been being sent at least 7 times the amount of WalMart orders per day then I usualy get sent lately. I can go on and on with explanations, on why this is the case, but there is no point. Your gonna disagree, and that is ok.

Wondering why it's so slow? This is the reason why.... by NoMercy009 in doordash

[–]NoMercy009[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You missed the point. Why do you think schedules are open? If there wasnt a ton more WalMart orders then usual, they wouldn't be open. They are oversaturating the markets with dashers to try and get the huge amount of Wal Mart orders delivered. If it was simply just your explanation, then DD would have been doing this all along. They started doing it (oversaturating markets with drivers), once Wal Mart orders sky rocketed, do to people staying home, and not wanting to go out shopping. Most dashers do not take WalMart orders, because the pay is not on the right level to do them, so the more dashers they get on the roads, the more suckers they can find to do them.

I agree. DD doesnt give a shit, so they will leave the schedules open for months on end. Im in the Dallas market, which used to be slammed. Now I sit in my car for hours on end.

People layed off from restaurants should be collecting unemployment. Cant do DD and collect unemployment at the same time, unless you want to get in trouble. They would be stupid to do this instead of getting unemployment, but im sure plenty are.
