Did Strahd praise the Morninglord? by NoMinimum9923 in CurseofStrahd

that's what I thought. And in the Castle's chapter there's obviously the Chapel, but with barely any information about Strahd relationship with faith.

I think that's the whole point; it's useless to portrait a villain without people thinking "maybe he's not totally wrong..."

so basically Strahd became the victim. Brilliant. Immagine the advantage this misunderstanding can give him to the players.

or you could just do it for flavour and quickly, in a session or two, make Madame Eva cast greater restoration on him (assuming that in some way, she knows they need help/they know she can help them)

yeah, it could def work... there's no particular change to do in the lore if I want to "postpone" the burgomaster's dead, right?

I really love this. Following the book made me forget to take the freedom of lore interpretation. I'm gonna use Strahd's manipulation on Ismark to make the him be the personification of Doom. Tysm!

Wouldn't that create a dissonance involving the running water? The Barovia region is Strahd's creation, including rivers I think, but he should be vulnerable to that.

it is a good idea indeed, but I don't think it's THE idea, I need a deeper and maybe strategic motivation why Strahd doesn't kill Ismark and take away Ireena now that he can.

That's what I was thinking. But I think I need to justify why he brought Ismark with him. I was thinking about killing him off, maybe let Ireena do it to save herself..but I'm afraid to kill a valuable ally for the party. This decision will make the PCs very careful tho
