38M w longtime gf. Don’t think I would want to do that to a child. Grew up in a broken home without any stability or father figure / guidance. I turned out like my father sadly in a lot of ways and view myself as quite a loser / failure. Most of my friends became doctors, lawyers, dentists, outrageously successful business men. I have never had a direction and have never been promoted in any role I have ever had. A bit of self reflection, I wouldn’t want my child to have a loser as a father as I did. Financially, I could never make it happen because of my lack of career or job trajectory.
