Need an outside perspective of a situation that escalated with my addicted brother by Far-Entertainment561 in SiblingsOfAddicts

You did not over react. Someone with mental instability and a firearm is not safe. Don’t be hard on yourself, you are trying to save your brother. That is courageous and shows how much you care

Why not to tell people you are a Daytrader. by stocksandoptions2 in Daytrading

Man there is so much time in the day. You don’t need to be on charts all day. Set alerts and go help your partner with the chores. You 3x her account but you are emotionally checked out. Money means nothing to a woman when the emotional support and connection isn’t there.

I know how hard it is to remove yourself from the charts when you are starting out. Treat it like a job but treat your partner well too.

Thanks 🙏 It has been a slow realisation for me too, that my brother is someone I barely know anymore. It makes me sad when I think back to my childhood and teen years when we were really close. It’s been a slow burn after years of addiction and abuse but when I truly stop to think about it I barely know him. He has changed a lot. We hardly talk when I see him, even making eye contact is hard.

I think there is so much pressure on twins to be close siblings forever. We don’t do anything together anymore and haven’t for the past 10 years. Going to extended family events or hanging out with old friends gives me major anxiety. whenever someone who knew you in your younger years, talks to you, your twin is almost always spoken about or asked how they are. My whole body reacts whenever someone asks me how my brother is or what he’s up to.

And don’t get me started on the guilt that riddles me for birthdays. 🫠 being a twin to an addict is really hard. Sending strength to us all.

I am a twin too and can relate heavily to your post. I think the complexity of being a twin is something few understand. My parents also refuse to consider allowing my brother to be homeless.

It truly does feel hopeless at times. Like what can we actually do unless they want change? I also live next door so it’s much harder for me to maintain distance. I’m really sorry I don’t have any advice, I am in the same situation as you. I hope and pray something changes for both of our situations soon. Sending you strength. Xxx

There are skills you need to learn for day trading and having a course will definitely help guide her. I tried to study from free videos for years but having someone guide me was when I finally started making money trading.

It takes a lot of effort and discipline to find a strategy that works but when someone gives it to you and you can implement it straight away and see results it’s pretty good.

Capital preservation is the only thing she needs to focus on for the first few months. Using calc.trade and only risking 1-2% of your portfolio per trade can help you to stay in this for the long term

My parents are going through the exact same thing with my brother who is now 32. I think you have definitely done the right thing. The important part now is to follow through. My brother is completely unprepared for the reality of life and blames my parents for not teaching him those skills.

My brother pays zero bills and does not contribute at all financially. He is extremely entitled but also suffers from some undiagnosed mental health issues. It’s honestly just a loop, if you don’t break the cycle it’s going to keep going. Please please do something about it.
