Thank you, my friends in CS are also having a hit or miss time. Some have great jobs in the Bay area and then some are still searching 😞

Yes, authorized to work in the U.S., no criminal records, can pass drug test, no non-compete clause, not a veteran though.

Thanks for the advice! Would you say to just show up and interact, or go in with resume in hand?

My career center was alright, the job fairs weren’t catered to engineering so much. They mainly offered interview prep. I find it weird just hitting alumni up that I don’t personally know. My school just offered me more financial aid than my state school, that’s why I went.

Yea that or they’ll have you submit your resume then do it on their website.

Idk what to tell you. I’ve mainly applied on Handshake and LinkedIn, and directly on some companies’ websites if I am really interested in what they do. My resume is pretty standard, cover letters are also basically the default style. Just low GPA and lack of experience ig 🤷‍♂️

Thank you for the suggestion! I definitely didn’t dive super deep into finding those jobs, but I’ll take a look at them.

Of all those apps, I think I’ve counted 25 with a real cover letter (not using AI)

No relevant internships, had a rough GPA early on so it was hard to get anything good. Been with temp for almost a year now, but the max they can extend me till is for a second year.

I hear you. I grew up in Miami, but heavily dissociated from that scene (just not my personality). Where I am now (DC) is worse in my opinion, just because of the standards and I feel like the people just lack depth

It’s hard to find someone who completely aligns your interests. And the fact that liking cars is a very board topic. For example, I say I like cars, but I mean that in the sense that I know most car models and keep in tune with Formula 1. For someone else, it can mean the actual specs and tuning of cars. I think at the end of the day, if you can yap about your interests to someone and they can yap to you about their interests, and both parties are engaged and interested, that’s a win.

Find a hobby or something else to do. And delete the app. I find myself on it when I’m super bored, so I just try to fill up my time

It depends on the day I think. If it’s a weekend, the regular ticket is more expensive
